Yeah it was not great. Its funny to me that they used CG water even in scenes that took place on land where they werent interacting with water so that it wouldnt be such a jarring comparison to the other green screen shots.

And wtf was up with casting Willem Dafoe in that role? Hes a great actor and they cast him as a character thats a total dweeb and he looked damn ridiculous

Its weird to me that they put so much effort in that long take of red hair girl running and it continues the long take to Jason Momoa but then he just jumps and the take ends.

This feels like 2 or 3 different movies standing on top of each other while wearing a trench coat and pretending to be a competent film.

I like how the final battle has not one but two callbacks to earlier in the film and Im sure the writer who wrote that and finalized it into further drafts gave themselves a huge pat on the back for it.

Most people who enjoy it tend to enjoy it in an "Oh my god this is terrible and cheesy" sort of way, not in a "Hey, this is a good movie" sort of way.

i watched it with my sister who LOVED it. Unironically.

Like, outside of Momoa (who she wants to smother her with his biceps), she genuinely thought it was amazing.

I thought it was pretty cool. Wasn't the best, but I didn't have any glaring problems with it.
