I didn't care for the ghosts and time travel and alternate dimension stuff either. I would've been fine with a really dramatic, action-packed escape from Midgar instead. I wonder if anything will be different with Aerith's fate

Sephy had NO reason to hijack the plot the way he did. The next games are gonna be a fucking shitshow but e boys and e girls everywhere are gonna tell us that we cant judge 40+ hours of story because it isnt done yet.

Ive said it before and Ill say it again. Im convinced the original FF7 went waaaaaaaaay over everyones heads because theres no reason why old VII stans should think the narrative changes in Remake are warranted or good.

There were changes to be made, and FF7 at its heart is a timeless story and it would be the PERFECT time to really lean into corporation bad stuff and they just... didnt? Because Sephiroth is super marketable, I guess.

What I don't understand is why were the dues ex machina ghosts helping Sephiroth at the end? Last I checked he didn't kill the party before they left Midgar in the OG game.

With how senseless the rest of the last chapter was I don't think there's an answer to that.

The majority of the game was rad though. Most of the narrative additions were weird or bad, but I had fun.

dude the last chapter makes no sense, and they don't even bother explaining it. fuck, sephiroth is the final boss, and at no point do they even describe once, who the fuck he even is!

it's a god damned mess of a chapter, and it's surprising considering how the rest of the game seems competent-to-excellent with its storytelling, ok?
