You'll most likely need a new motherboard if you want a modern CPU which also means new RAM if you're not using DDR4.

After a certain point its not worth it to upgrade an old PC
If its a 2012 pc you could probably find a better GPU and throw in an SSD and call it a day If you want more of an improvement you will need a new cpu and mobo and ram. May as well build a new one --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Have to start from scratch. And depending on the build version of Windows 10 you are running, you might have to buy that again too.
