Twelve Kingdoms is very very good.

It also suffers from the exact same issue of HxH in that it's never actually gonna finish, though I think I heard Juuni Kokuki's novels got continued by his son or something? Certainly never gonna be more anime.

ALSO, in the Heaven's Arena arc during one fight (I think it is Hisoka vs. the doppelganger guy), there's a little scene where some guy enters the announcer booth and says something about the fighters. The announcer is like, who are you?? And I dont think he ever appears again... what's up with that?

The protagonist of Level E, one of Togashi's other series. Just a little cameo that they decided to keep in the anime for some reason

It's a cool OP for sure, but it's funny how dark and serious it feels. It gives you the feeling the arc is going to be more like something like Chapter Black from YYH.

Which actually reminds of something else I sort of know... I listen to the Super Best Friends / Castle Super Beast podcast. One of the people in that podcast watched Hunter X Hunter like I don't know, a year ago or something. There's really only two things I remember him talking about. One was that the Chimera Ant arc is real good.... and another is that there is aparently this recurring character everyone hates, and by the end of the show something happens where they get some comeuppence. It was described as like this meeting where every character comes together to mock this one person. So I've been trying to identify who this character is. The only one I can pinpoint is Killua's brother, not Illumi the other one.

Funny enough, I was excited to watch Gon In 60 Seconds now that I have context for the show, only to find out Woolie only got to like episode 9. Of course, that's understandable, but for some reason I thought he was further along.

That aside, I actually like the set-up/system of Greed Island quite a lot.

Ugh, are they REALLY introducing a character that looks like a young child but is *ACTUALLY* 40+ years old? I thought Hunter X Hunter would be better than that.

It is cool that the Troupies (thats what use true HxH fans call the members of the Phantom Troupe) are still in active in this arc. I think if they had truly actually went home at the end of the last arc itd have been wasted potential. Its easy to forget that these characters are merciless killers who wiped out an entire clan of innocents for seemingly no reason.

I can't tell you how many people have told me they were warry of watching HxH because the Gon has a dumb shirt.

I never really understood the problem with it, but I guess it's the combo with the shorts?

Yeah, all the ED's are good having rewatched, but this is where the ED train really starts to ramp up. The ED after the next one is so good they keep it for the following season and just change the visuals!

I like how fast Killua got through the hunter's exam, and it was also fun watching them speedrun these dumb sidequests. I thought this arc would get bogged down with spells and spell battles, but the way the cards are being used here is actually very entertaining. Like the scens with Killua / the Bomber using the luck dice in different ways.

So since this island exists in the real world (and as an aside, I know they said the waters around the island make it tough to get to or something, but they show that is SO close the main continent that York New is on that is a LITTLE unbelieable no one knows it exists), does this mean all these NPCs are real? Or maybe some kind of crazy Nen ability..

Ohh thy're prisoners. Or at least some of them are. Son in all the kerfuffle of trying to get this Strip of Beach card and meeting up with Hot Hisoka, some guy joined the group. I don't who this guy is, but he's cool I like him.

The dodgeball match has been one of the few fights that have actually extended over multiple episodes. It might even be the longest fight so far? Maybe "fight" is a bit of a stretch, but still.

Well I finished all the episodes on Netflix. Don't even get to see Gon meet Ging, much less see him transform. Also kinda weird that Gon's final fight so-to-speak was with Genthru, a character he doesn't really interact with much. What a waste.

Well, that was a fun ride! Definitely a cool show, I can see why so many people like it. Absolutely would reccomend it.
