I just finished Episode 99. Gon and Killua infiltrated the dictator's county, and Killua is going around trying to spread the word that towns of people are getting killed. Which causes the Chimera Ants to use Diego to declare Martial Law, which allegedly will make thing tougher for everyone.

Episode 102 was great. Can't really put into words why, but it really rejuvenated my interested in what is going on (not that I wasn't interested anyway). Maybe because we finally got to see more of Meruem. And the young girl in the ED showed up, some kind of champion player of this Gungi game.

I'm going to tell you now since I was just reminded, the Hunter x Hunter movies are very bad and you should not watch them.

Well, the second one is just generic and mediocre. The first is an all time legendary bad anime movie.

I'm super late to this but Hyori Ittai too good.

It starting up at the end of the episode before the transition to the ED proper is GOAT-worthy. Hunting for Your Dream (Yorknew ED) was amazing in this way too but this took it to the next level.

From my recollection of watching the dub on Toonami a year or two ago it actually takes several episodes for her name to be said.

Up to 106, things continue to be interesting! Not many new developments yet, I liked the fight Morel had with the cheetah guy (Cheetool?). The stuff with the King and the little girl is also nice, though I can't say I really like this girl yet. I've never been a fan of the "Oh no! let me apologize profusely for every bad thing I do!!! Sorry I'm so dumb!!" character personality, it's a bit annoying.

Also, is this director guy the first "old man pervert" character in the story? I actually admire this anime's restraint about not using the character trope for so long... although it'd have been nice if it didn't appear at all.

I mean I think there's a difference between an old man pervert trope and an actual malicious authorative sexual predator.

You know, that's fair. Usually the old man pervert is a character who is otherwise a "good guy", and his assaults are played for laughs. That certainly is not happening here, that's for sure!

I guess I meant more generally, there haven't been ANY perverted characters at all as far as I can recall. Except for Hisoka, funny enough.

yeah, some of the recurring tropes you get in anime really suck. it's not always an old guy who's the pervert either.

If you blinked you'll literally miss that scene, that's how fast that happened I wouldn't call it much of a trope use if we didn't spend time on the chick complaining about the old man followed by the slapstick comedy so we can all laugh at a situation where a girl was harassed. Hisoka fits that trope better although adult male clown/little boy is a wierd substitute for the old man/young girl.
