Im finally watching through it again after not having seen it since I was a kid. Its holding up very well.

But The Great Divide episode is objectively the worst one.

I'm also kinda rewatching it but some of the heavy handed parts where it's super obvious it's a kids show are hard to watch.

Also why is the quality for season 1 so horrifically bad?

I mean most teenagers aren't up for casual murder if they can avoid it, unless they're a sociopath like Azula.

Interesting how similar it looks to Voltron: Legendary Defender (same studio) despite being separated from it by well over a decade.

I think the show has a false pretense.

Long after Aang died I've been born and I airbend from my butt constantly...and can do significantly more damage than him.

JFC, it's not like the series is *that* old. It only wrapped up about a decade ago.

After binge watching The Dragon Prince and while waiting for season 15 of Supernaturals, I might as well watch Avatar: The Last Airbender again. I watched the series during college but probably missed an episode here or there.

Perhaps I do not understanding the rating system well enough but I am surprised it was rated Y-7 and not PG or PG-13. I do not recall any actual killings on scene but there were plenty of implied deaths I recalled. Or maybe I am mentally whack enough to think there would be some deaths involved (i.e. Fire Nation solders dropped into the ocean or in the crashing blimps). In terms of sexual content, The Beach was probably the only episode with any sort of PG-13 material I would say.

Yeah, what the fuck is up with that hold-up? Has it not concluded its initial broadcast yet or something?

I had considered doing that last night after having finished Gotham the day before, but then I wound up rewatching some Ouran episodes because I never finished rewatching that. And instead of rewatching ATLA, I might finally watch Korra.

TV ratings don't have PG-13. And are you sure it was Y7 and not Y7FV? Because Y7FV seems more its speed.

Which is why it's rated as being appropriate for kids. It's a war but they kinda gloss over the whole death side of things, although they'll acknowledge people as being dead or killed.

In general, ratings are given on the basis of specific criteria and, had the show been rated TV14 then they would have cut things down to a Y7 rating to run on Nickelodeon.

I thought so too but upon checking Wiki, seems episode 13 aired recently on March 23, 2020. The series was planned to be done in May 2020 but with COVID-19, might end up being late 2020.

Think I am finally ready to give that series a chance and of course it is not on Netflix any longer. Was difficult to get into it because it felt too different at the time but after thinking about it, make sense the series was not meant to be an ATLA 2.0.

My mistake, you are correct. IMDb lists it as TV-Y7-FV.

Fair point. Pretty sure 10 years old me did not or barely recognized the sexual innuendos in Animaniacs.

How long ago was Korra on NF? I can't remember it being offered.

Crud, I just started Hemlock Grove. Guess I can put it off until after Supernatural, considering I've put it off for years now and the beginning hasn't been great. Maybe I'll finally finish AHS: Hotel instead... or do a different AHS season because Hotel has been pretty awful.

Wanded posted...

It has its moments. Season 1 is pretty good, season 2 is all over the place (although the Maniax were great), and... actually, I can just post what I said somewhere else:

Zeus posted... I finished Gotham last night. Apparently the last season was only 12 episodes instead of the usual 22.

Although the show was broadcast by Fox, it really felt like a CW production. There were elements that reminded me a lot of Smallville, partly because the chick playing Lee reminded me of Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang, Smallville).

Season 1 felt a lot more episodic with some running character storylines, whereas the seasons that followed seemed to try to have more continuity. While character personalities were pretty inconsistent, Barbara's was the absolute worst since she seemed to have at least one major personality change each season in addition to a new look.

Besides the inconsistent writing, there was a decidedly inconsistent tone. Occasionally things got very grimdark and other times it felt campy and cartoonish, with things that would have felt at home in the Adam West Batman (such as goons reading comic books while holding somebody hostage. And the pice de rsistance? One of those times it was a book labeled Detective Comics!)

Season 1 was great. Season 2 was a mess, although the Maniax were a nice touch. Season 3 started off stupid, but things really picked up later on. Season 4 was pretty fun; although it had some glaring problems, it might be my favorite season. Season 5 was just something of a waste, although the final episode was awesome.

To my above remarks, I'll add that once they start to actually use the Riddler, he's pretty awesome. Penguin I wanted to like, but his storylines are just all over the place. They also went really weird with Ivy.
