I don't think there's any possible way they assist in recovery. If the principle is that the compression somehow helps release lactic acid, there's no way it's even a fraction as effective as a foam roller. I'm sure the compression makes people feel like they look better, which can improve mood and performance, but it sounds like a total waste of money to me compared to my $3 underarmor top and shorts from Marshall's.

End of another week for me. I might start tacking on a light day through the weekend though.
Arms feel different/better, seem to look a little different too, but unless I start taking pics (for myself only, not public) to compare not sure. Kind of want to do that for myself, kind of don't. To be mildly graphic, compression shorts kept my junk off my leg during row machine and elliptical use. I was putting in like 3 hrs a day between the 2 at one point and was starting to chafe. So it at least had that use.
@Lunar_Savage I do weekly progress pictures in almost the exact same couple poses. You'll hardly tell anything week to week but the slow progress from what builds after months is nice to see. In my case I use it to be more aware of my body and add focus to what I think needs work. You'll start to see things that you wouldn't really notice otherwise and quite honestly no one else will. It's also a nice boost in motivation to see your own progress. --- PSN: Jiek ... Copied to Clipboard!

Today was legs and back.
Managed 275 x 3 deads, I know I could do more reps or more weight, but I threw these out after I'd already done 4 sets at 250. I raised my warmup for squats to 200 instead of 160, felt pretty good when I got into the real sets, didn't raise those tho. Raised bent over row to 125 pounds in sets of 8, that one is still kinda tough so I'm gonna bump the weight a bit, lower to 5 reps, and add a set. Added a set to all accessory lifts and increased all accessory rep counts to 12 instead of 8. How long do your sessions usually last @scorpion41 ? How many movements do you usually do? --- ... That reminds me, been meaning to discuss this. Im pretty a similar 6'1 217 and the way i've been going about it is a long term goal and a short term goal. Long term, eventually get down to 180pds Short term, can I lose 6-7 pounds by the end, of July. Repeating that each month. Then I break it down a little more into weekly observations. Such as last week I could only do 10 reps and now I can do 12 at the same weight or I cut 2 minutes off my run time. I feel good after every workout, I see and feel progress and there are goals each step of the way that are realistic and build towards a larger goal and before I know it a month has passed and im that 5 pounds closer to the edn. ... BurntPukeByEric posted... I'm a fucking whale right now. I pushing 40 and my blood pressure was 169 over 116 the other day. Not really any point in deprecating yourself like this, it's enough to say that you are unhappy with the state of your health. If you are experiencing health complications and subsequent anxieties from your lifestyle, that sounds like the best motivator in the world to me. I would look at myself and I just couldn't be happy. I never smiled, in fact I couldn't actually even clear my top teeth with my lip because my cheeks were so colossal. I would look at myself and think that everyone else thought I was the ugliest person in the world, but the truth was that only I truly felt that way. All the way into my bones I hated myself more than anything, and I couldn't stand that feeling anymore. I either had to take initiative and do this so I could become someone that I could stand to be, or I would have just let myself die. You can do this dude, it gets so easy after the first month that you'll be tempted to beat yourself up for not doing it sooner, but don't fall into that trap because, the past is gone and there's only now and forward from here.
