I'm sure it's a good game but I'm so tired of World War 2. It's always the same thing.

"We in the past now. Look at all of our equipment it's so accurate for how it was back then. We didn't have smart phones. Or the internet. Look we were young too we aren't old anymore. Look our cutscenes have a grainy filter because that's how it was back in the day. Even though you're playing in 4k HDR. Clever of us, huh? "

All of the characters act surprised as to what's gonna happen realistically so, but we already know. Everybody knows about World War 2. Everyone has seen it in movies and played it in a game.

I'm tempted to blast through the campaign then delete. Multiplayer isn't very entertaining so far and zombies is boring compared to WaW and BLOPS1. I'm probably going to give both modes one last chance today.

It's the best multiplayer CoD since BO2 which is real sad

Not interested in playing online with people at all in this game to be honest. I'm very good at a few genres but this isn't one of them. Im glad people love it and it's popular for a reason, right? But I have no interest in Call of Duty multiplayer, Fortnite, or Apex. I'm not shitting on them because they're popular. They could be unpopular and I still wouldn't play them. My best memories of Cod4 were in the campaign.

I would only get excited about World War 2 if it was VR. Maybe.

Now games like Firewall are fucking fun in VR with Playstation Aim. That's fucking fun. However the game ruins it by being a loading screen simulator. Takes fucking what feels like 20 minutes to get into a game and what feels like only 2 min for the whole match. You spend more time waiting doing nothing and it blows.

If I could play this in VR with my aim controller I'd still be playing.

I remember that shit lol. A modern shooter was such a big deal that even I bought Call of Duty 4. I was around 15 at the time. And it was incredible.

Idk how they got away with making nothing but World War 2 games all the time. WW2 is a fabulous setting but it's been done to hell and back, and back again, and out again, and you get the point. I'm exhausted and I haven't even touched WW2 anything for years.

Also, hell yeah firewall. I put easily a hundred hours into that one. I wish there had been a death match mode of some kind. Rounds are too short for how long the downtime is.

What's even weirder is that you can't even wag your gun around in the lobby anymore. You used to be able to show off your weapon and wiggle it around where your teammates could see. Now you're stuck in a preloaded pose and your movements don't register to your team's view. I don't know why they changed that.

A moshpit of game modes on the tiniest map in the game, Shipment. It's absolute chaos. Team Deathmatch games reach the score limit of 75 in like 2 minutes, and Domination games (which go on for a certain amount of time no matter how many kills happen) can lead to people racking up dozens of kills, sometimes even cracking 100 before the game finally ends.

The campaign has two stealth/spy missions early on that are nothing like the rest of the campaign, at least play to see if you like those.

Anywho, at least CoD WW2 covered all the essentials of WW2, unlike Battlefield 5. Theres no eastern front but they still included Russian weapons and clothing.

Nah, I don't think they will. The context at the time was that people were sick of advanced movement/futuristic CoDs and wanted literally anything else. WW2 was put forward before Activision realized people just wanted Modern Warfare 4 lol

All the Advanced Movement games were great, the problem was that Activision felt obligated to do three of them in a row. AW in particular had an exciting campaign with a lot of new ideas in it; too bad all people remember was "F to pay respects".

Sledgehammer made both AW and WW2, so you also have the people who hate the latter because of the former. But right now, I'd take another Sledgehammer game over Treyarch; Black Ops 4 shows they're truly washed up at this point.

Agreed. They were all great, but they shouldn't have been done three in a row. The whole thing with Activision locking Modern Warfare Remastered behind a "Legacy Edition" of Infinite Warfare hurt too.

If IW and WW2 swapped release years and MWR was released as a standalone from the beginning, IW wouldn't be nearly as hated as it is now.

I got to Master Prestige and STILL only got 1-2 DLC guns without bribes. Black Ops 3 has such dumbass supply drop system that places some of the best guns in the game behind it

Black Ops 4 would be the worst but at least you can technically grind towards guns you want.....long after the 1-year cycle

They really shouldn't, unless they're really prepared to do it. A game like this could be very, very interesting, but it would require a depth of writing and manner of thought that exceeds the average capacity of an FPS writing team.

Treyarch has some of the most arcade-like shooting mechanics in the series so I doubt it'll be nothing but three-lane maps and an SMG meta again sadly
