Ideally, you keep your level as low as possible before jedi training, since you sacrifice feats and powers otherwise. It's not really all that important, though.

Yeah its not that important to max your Jedi levels, master speed and max flurry attack one shots like everyone

Yes, you can wait to do your leveling until you are a Jedi and it will count as leveling as a Jedi

I always level to 4 for the extra class-specific feat and then leave the rest for Jedi levels.

level 4 is the genuine accepted minimum level if you try to do most things I think
though as said you can remain at level 2 if you speed things and don't do most content.

But as said before, how these games work, just don't level up until you get Jedi training.
It really isn't that big of a deal since the game isn't too hard.
