Depends. Bugs is better as a stand-alone, but Mickey is great when he's put into an established work or is doing a kinda cameo in something else. Otherwise I prefer ducks. I like Daffy more than Bugs and both Donald & Scrooge more than Mickey.

There's never really been any point in my life where I cared about Mickey at all. Even as a little kid, I was probably more interested in Donald or Goofy (or outright ignored the "core" Disney stuff in favor of stuff like Snow White, Cinderella, Alice, Robin Hood, etc). And as you get older, Mickey gets less and less cool while Bugs just kind of gets more and more appealing.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit really put that in perspective - they went out of their way to have "paired" scenes between Looney Tunes and Disney characters (it was literally contractually obligated that neither studio would allow their characters to be used if the other studio's characters got more time on-screen, so they have to be on-screen the exact same amount of time). And in almost every single case (Mickey/Bugs, Daffy/Donald, etc), you realize that the Looney Tune is always the cooler one of the two.

About the only thing I can think of Mickey being in that was cool was The Sorcerer's Apprentice section of Fantasia. And let's be honest, the coolest part of Fantasia wasn't that part.

Mickey was fine when I was a mindless baby, but when I developed enough to think for myself, to examine, analyze, assess, and judge, Mickey lost appeal pretty quickly. He's actually a pretty abusive and spiteful character, not very entertaining unless you like watching someone abuse their dog, their friends, most things in general, and laugh at their misfortune.

That's not to say Bugs is some kind of saint, he ain't, but he at least tends to reserve his deviltry for those trying to kill and/or eat him.

KH was probably around the start of what got me to care about Mickey. I imagine a lot of the problem is that Disney tried to make him bland and inoffensive for so many years -- to ensure he wouldn't offend parents -- that he was utterly unappealing. It's hard to like a character without much personality.
