I wonder how that will work. They all have different body shapes and attack animations so the differences will far exceed the ones in the current Echo Fighters.

even with the English that's not necessarily the only derivation, a fighter could refer to one slot / moveset / "fighter" entity that can take the form of different characters / models

but yeah like SEP I don't expect the abnormal body shapes like Master Mummy........ although Twintelle is also a tricky one since her "springs" aren't her arms... but oh god if we get everyone except Twintelle there will be blood

at least I think Spring Man + Ribbon Girl seems like the bare minimum, and Ninjara and Min Min wouldn't be much of a stretch (heh) I don't feel foolish to predict

I would give some odds to just Ribbon Girl or Spring Man + the robot Springman. Ribbon Girl and Spring Man may be too different animation-wise to actually be interchangeable.

I guess arms is just so boring that the only way to generate any sort of hype is to have some sort of mystery.

That or some sort of twist, like its actually a new arms character (arms 2?), but I doubt it

I think you nailed it tbh. If they come out and say who it is then the direct loses what little excitement it had to begin with.

There is definitely a shot at Helix. Vergeben initially mentioned him, though hasn't said much recently.

A couple weeks ago there was some sort of weird update to the amiibo page, for compatibility with Smash Bros., a blank spot appeared alphabetically between Sonic and Toon Link, which is part of the reason I think it could be Spring Man. If it's him, I think the reason they don't outright say it is because revealing him would open up the floodgates of speculation/requests for ATs to be upgraded to playable characters, so they're keeping him close to the chest until the last possible minute.

I also predict this will be an "available later today" situation.

Sakurai isnt dumb, he knows that creating a sense of mystery and then revealing the absolute most obvious choice is going to be a big let down... I hope.

This is the character that would have ended up being the E3 showing, the one to convince people to put down money for the full pass right off the bat

2. Shadow
3. Shovel Knight
4. Isaac
5. Midna (but riding Wolf Link)

If I were asked, consequences be damned, which 5 AT's to promote, I would go for Alucard, Ashley, either Lyn or Tiki, Midna and Samurai Goroh.
