Lack of video of him saying the N-word is not evidence. The evidence is a clearly enraged black man dragging him through the isle. I mean, what do you guys think happened? The employee made fun of these guys for being Bronies and now both parties are too ashamed to admit what the fight was really about?

You can prove that this guy was assaulted, you can't prove that he said the N word.

And even if he did there is a difference between getting in a heated argument with someone and punching them when they say something that crosses some massive lines like a racial slur and sucker punching a person while your buddy films it on his cell phone.

Talk shit, get hit.

However, don't do it on camera because this is clearly assault.

wasn't it caught on camera? the entire store is under surveillance. when they said they looked into it, I know they mean they checked the cameras.

yes. they cut in front of him, and he said "thats not cool" and then they attacked him in the parking lot and beat him half to death while shout "black lives matter". which the victim never actually said wasn't true. they just assumed he was a racist and wanted an excuse to beat him up

Btw I usually side with the offended party, but in this case I dont get the vibe that the jewelry guy said the n word. The puncher never mentioned it during his beatdown, and the punched guy looked legit confused and asked why he did that for.

Not going to comment on this specific case because Im getting the vibe he didnt actually say it, but if its someone thats willing to call them that slur they most likely already think that of them whether or not they react with physical retaliation. They dont need an excuse. Theyve already said what they think of them by resorting to that.

But you can't just beat the shit out of people, it's not against the law to say horrible things, it is against the law beat someone up. Personally, I don't care if some racist gets punched, but that is still against the law. The "moral high-ground" doesn't put you above the law.

If someone comes up to you tomorrow and just beats the shit out of you for no reason, should they be considered justified because the fact that they did it proves that you obviously deserved it?

Let's just say either way, this isn't morally justified.

But it's still a demonstration of some sort. How many times has a minority been on the other side of this? Shown no remorse over perhaps doing nothing wrong? In an interesting fashion, it shows how reserved how some people have been. How often does a black person have to worry about how they carry themselves in a dominantly-white environment? This is a case of someone not carrying that worry or social pressure, and just having no tolerance the same way they've been treated in history.

Maybe it sets a tone for all those black people who keep getting casually slighted by hints of racism. I've had friends vent on social media about how they nearly snapped at their jobs or just going about town minding their own business. Slight racist remarks and selective treatment. No, it's not being straight Karen'd or executed, it's still offensive in its own way, dealing with it every single day.

And of course you can get into "well there's black-on-black violence all the time", and what crimes have been done generally, but this is a surveillance-monitored bright-as-day public setting in Macy's. His brother took the video and bother were not giving a shit about the legal implications like "do something about it" while he was probably making that employee (who might have been innocent) shit his pants. Legal pursuit wouldn't matter to that guy if he was about to lose his life in the next minute, and that's just the bold reality to pay attention to.

It is NOT a good thing to say such words - but words do not result in physical violence. Remember, we are in a crisis where 'escalating violence' is a big 'no-no?'

Never did I say legally it was an excuse to avoid an assault charge. I was merely pointing out they already think that regardless of how you react.

On the flip side, just because its not illegal to say horrible things doesnt mean youre exempt from the consequences of what you say, regardless of what those consequences may be.

That shit is very clearly provocation, so I could definitely see getting a lighter sentence if not off altogether depending on what took place.
