It's like nobody is even reading the article. Look at this:

Savage, 52, denied the allegations in a statement to PEOPLE via his lawyer Andrew Brettler, saying, "While I hope that my sister gets the help she needs to find peace, this needs to end. For many years, she has relentlessly and falsely attacked me and other members of my family to anyone who will listen."

"By spreading numerous untrue stories about us in pursuit of a financial bonanza, she has tortured our entire family and estranged herself from all of us," he continued. "I will fight this groundless and offensive lawsuit and work to put this to rest once and for all."

His mother Karen Savage also issued a statement via Brettler, saying, "It makes me very sad to say this, but my daughter suffers from severe mental health challenges, and it's devastating that she's putting Adam and our entire family through this. Adam is a good man, and I support him completely."

Yeah yeah, #BelieveAllWomen and all, but this story is fucking ridiculous. For starters, the idea that a 9-year-old would even do such things is preposterous to me. And their mother even says that the daughter is mentally challenged, so why are we taking the daughter's word as truth? And let's not forget that she's coming forward about it just before the statute of limitations would've expired. Last chance to try and squeeze out some money.

I would understand that she couldn't report the crime at the time because she was too young to understand the very nature of the crime (or maybe she might of viewed it as something normal).
But if she was truly aware of the crime, why did she not speak out about it? Incest isn't something new, and it's outlawed in many states...

There are countless reasons why someone may not have stepped forward immediately, especially in a situation like this where she supposedly already tried and was shut down at a young age. Like I said, we know enough now about abuse victims to know that them not revealing what happened until years or even decades after is not uncommon at all.

The reason why really isnt relevant. The focus should be on whether it happened or not, not Well why did you wait so long to bring it to light?

My only point is that the question of Well why did she wait so long? is pointless. It doesnt help determine whether shes telling the truth or not. There are far too many cases where someone was abused and waited years or decades to say something for that to be a reliable gauge of whether theyre being truthful or not.

Honestly, this wraps things up for me. People who are waiting for the "evidence" to come out...it's never coming. Even if this did happen, the only evidence that could possibly exist is for the parents or Adam's other siblings to testify.

Unless this mother is an absolute monster of a human being (which is unlikely, I can buy a rapey brother, but a rapey brother that is completely defended by his mom when he raped his own sister? what about the other siblings?), I am on Adam's side on this one.

How is someone so young even capable of doing that? And if they are, it's usually due to a bad home life - what kind of adults do they normally turn out to be? Seemingly normal, successful ones that work in special effects for years and have their own TV show? Don't they normally end up... kinda strung out?

So the accuser is supposedly mentally challenged, is there anything to show her disability?

She can't. It supposedly happened so long ago that the only possible remaining evidence is strictly anecdotal. It's literally a "he said she said" situation. But given today's court of public opinion, even accusing someone can be a death sentence already.

If this is true i hope he is locked away and never sees the light of day again.

You didn't understand his post at all. Kids mimic what they see. For Adam at 9 years old to go and demand his little sister go down on him that aggressively, that meant he had exposure to it at some level to know it's pleasurable. A plausible explanation for him being privy to this information if he experienced it himself; i.e. abuse.

There's a chance of him watching too much porn or catching his parents in the act and wanting to replicate it. These are all possibilities, though you'd need a lot of exposure for that whereas an abuse would imprint quite strongly with a little bit of time.

I wonder if this is the reason why Adam never got along with Jamie. That's on the assumption that these allegations are true in the first place.

There is no evidence that these allegations are even remotely true. That should be the first thought on your mind. Not trying to discern what could drive a 9-year-old to do such things.

As for why Adam and Jamie never got along, that seemed simple to me. Adam is energetic and extroverted while Jamie is quiet and introverted. Jamie would get annoyed by Adam's antics and Adam would poke fun at Jamie because he's super serious all the time.
