well it doesnt taste like anything ive had before. i mean the chicken tastes like chicken but whatever spices/marinade they used is new to me. it's p good. soft and tender

No they don't. It'd be like if I said "I'm going to try kosher"... I could be talking about a pickle, a sandwich, a cracker, steak...

And even if you want us to assume you meant "middle-eastern food", there's a significant difference between turkish food, egyptian food, etc. Again, it'd be like me saying "I'm going to try European food".

I mean iono about all that religion and stuff but this stuff tastes good. They gave me too much tho. There's a lot of foods I've never tried maybe now I'll branch out more since this was a good experience. The last new food I tried before this was thai, which I found rancid. Before that it was pho and bahn mi or w/e. Those made me gag

I think I'll try Indian next time. I've never had curry before

I don't think so. This was from a p popular place in San antonio. I'm not about to insult the food but I can't control how it tasted to me

It's Middle Eastern food based on the spices. Educate yourself.

Halal means the animal is bled out before dying. There are other ways to prepare animal meat in religious contexts such as kosher and jhakta, but imo killing animals is not right any way you slice it.

TC if you mean south-Asian food, the key is a mix of stuff like onion, ginger, garlic, etc

I went vegan for a month it wasn't bad. I got bored but it's not like it's lacking in variety

Anyway yeah, this seems to be some sort of rice dish with long thin rice, lettuce, cucumber, some kind of marinated lamb and chicken, and some sort of white sauce on top. It's spicy. I will be ordering from here again in the future

That actually sounds like it could be a variation of the Maqluba I mentioned earlier.

Minus the bread this looks very similar. Less salad, no bread, and the rice was a light brown but this is almost spot on

Before Vietnamese I had Ethiopian from a food truck near my apt in texas. The guy who ran it was from wthiopia, super cool dude. The food was awesome and he was impressed with my ability to pronounce injira (spell?)

halal generally refers to an orthodox islamic method of slaughter, and of course respecting quranic prohibitions (no blood, no pork, etc.)

as far as MENA cuisine goes though, nothing beats north african if you ever have the opportunity to have it
