Welcome to the King of Fighters 2020 (NOT MERCS) Simulated Character Battle Tournament!

The game is simple. The two* listed characters are placed in an (imaginary) location with a variety of (imaginary) environments, kind of like a picture in a child's schoolbook that describes different types of geological features. Within a ten mile radius, there is an (imaginary) urban downtown, exurbs, plains, snow-clad mountains at the edge, dry plains, etc. Fighters start wherever is most appropriate for them, but feel increasingly compelled to seek out their opponent and fight. Strong-willed fighters can try to hold out in their chosen environment for longer... eventually, all will succumb and actively search for the other to battle.

To participate, just vote in bold for whichever character you believe will win. Giving reasoning is optional, but please be polite and read what others have said and carefully make your decision. I'll ping the nominators (they can opt out) to give arguments if they wish.

my notes on him are "bounty hunter with a CAR" so I guess he gets the Blue Falcon

...not that I think it'd help against Armstrong. He'd try to run the Senator owner and crush himself without hurting his opponent

Falcon is just, like, a normal dude with a sidearm we never see him use. He's the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy but he seems to just be an athletic guy.

Armstrong pretty cleanly takes it as far as I can see.

armstrong clearly destroys falcon on foot, but I'm not sure about falcon with a CAR

As much as I love captain falcon I cannot argue that Armstrong takes this easy

I somehow imagine him tanking the nuclear reactor falcon punch and getting run over by the blue falcon because of nanomachines (son)

I think it'd fuck him up. I think it's probably more likely that it'd do nothing than it'd kill him tbh

The thing is, given the battlefield I'm not sure there's a place here where Captain Falcon can get up to those speeds. Like if they meet downtown, Captain Falcon is more likely to kill himself than Armstrong if he's going that fast.

It sounds like he'd start on a remote island, not the urban center.

That's even worse because I don't think he can get the Blue Falcon off of an island. Yeah, the cars hover a bit above the ground, but they're affected by whatever is underneath them. So if he drives on water, the car will sink.

In that case, I don't think he would start somewhere he can't properly use the car. But that probably means the urban center, so either way...

Armstrong. Even on the rare occasion he did get hurt, unless you destroy his heart he's shown he can just T-1000 himself and be all better. There is nothing Falcon can do

Captain Falcon is a melee fighter, and Armstrong can tank melee attacks because of Nanomachines Son, so Captain Falcon wouldn't be able to hurt him. If Falcon tried to charge a Falcon Punch, he would end up leaving himself vulnerable to Armstrong since he can't use his other attacks to stun Armstrong and give him to charge the Falcon Punch.

I wonder, since Falcon gets Blue Falcon, does Armstrong get Metal Gear Excelsus? Not that he needs it, since Armstrong wins anyway.
