Police Body Camera footage shows how a noise complaint in Arizona turned into a fatal shooting where a man playing VIDEO GAMES was SHOT in the BACK seconds after opening his front door!!

40 y/o Ryan Whitaker was shot dead by Phoenix Police at 10pm when they knocked on his door following a noise complaint from an upstairs neighbor

He answered with a 9mm because he had a stranger knock on his door before in the middle of the night

He was playing Crash Brandicoot on PS4 with his gf, Brandee Nees when he was killed in less than a minute!!

When he opened the door, 2 phoenix officers were surprised by the sight of his firearm and in just 3 seconds, Officer Jeff Cooke shot him in the back TWO times at point blank range killing him.

The horrific shooting is one of several in the department that has reawakened criticism of the force's use of deadly force

Matthew Cunningham, the family lawyer said the police knew from the night of the shooting that this was a false and exaggerated call...

In the footage, Whitaker was seen with a gun in his hand before putting it behind him after seeing cops and Officer Ferragamo yells "Hands" and seconds later he was shot by Officer Cooke. His family says he was still shot even though the gun was put on the ground

After that, his gf runs out and shouts "Why did you guys shoot him?" as Cooke says "He just pulled a gun on his ma'am". She yells "Because its dark and someone just knocked on the door"

Brandee says "Literally we were making salsa and playing Crash Bandicoot, so there may have been some screaming but it wasn't domestic violence or anything"

She said he had just gone to his daughter's high school graduation earlier that dy

Cooke also claimed he shot Whitaker cause he feared for his life as Ferragamo said he too would have done the same

Jesus fucking christ. Saw the video and it's awful.

The neighbor that called the police was asked if there was physical violence going on and he basically said "sure, whatever gets the cops out here faster, I can't sleep"

The cops only quickly mumbled "phoenixpolice" rather than properly announcing themselves and stayed out of view of the peephole.

They shot him within 2 seconds of opening the door, in the back. He was already putting the gun down and dropping to the ground while defensively holding up his other hand.

You can hear one of the officers in the video say "I don't have time for this." From the viewpoint of the non-shooting officer if doesn't even look like the other officer could have seen the gun and by the time he fired the guy was on his knees. They killed the guy because doing police work was too inconvenient. Hell, it took two minutes before they even updated the dispatcher on the shooting.

You can watch this whole interview if you want, but the main point is she doesn't even know if she has seen footage of shootings and assaults of her own officers.

I'll be very surprised if any of these officers get disciplined. ACAB, PHX police are on a different level of bad, and they are fucking everywhere here.

this is an example of why everyone should be in support of the BLM movement

yes, the movement is primarily focused on how black people are disproportionately affected by police killings, but it's not like the goal is to increase police killings for everybody else

fixing how police operate will help everyone
