I'd like to play some paper Mario games, but I hear some of them aren't all that great. I command you to rank the ones you've played, ok?

Personally for me I would put them

TTYD > Origami King > Super Paper Mario > Paper Mario >> Color Splash >>>>> Sticker Star

Origami King is rather good and would recommend it to anyone who liked TTYD. Sticker Star is pretty trash and I wouldnt recommend that one to anyone.

The only one I've played was the original N64 one, but I'm almost certain I would like TTYD more, because it's basically the original's gameplay but expanded upon.

Don't think I would like any of the others, they simply diverged too much. Same reason why more modern Final Fantasy titles kinda pushed me away from that series.

I would rec 64 first tho since ttyd is pretty much a perfect sequel in many ways that make the first one lesser

Haven't played the last two but I do own them, I've just not gotten around playing them yet.

But out of the ones I've played, only Sticker Star outright sucks.

64 and TTYD are classics that all Mario fans should at least play once.
Super Paper Mario is really fun too but it's kinda different from the two first games but it has a pretty neat story and I really like that.

As a bonus, Mario & Luigi Paper Jam is well, it's an ok game, better than Sticker Star at least but for the majority of the game you're chasing Paper Toads.
Thankfully they reduced the amount of tutorials which the previous game(Dream Team) was literally filled with.

Lmao I came into this topic to comment pretty much exactly this.

I might actually put 64 slightly ahead of TTYD though. I replayed both about a month ago, and found that TTYD had a lot of really tedious segments, especially with backtracking.
