"Soullike" games are mostly action games. Maybe Action RPGs if you really wanna keep it in the RPG genre.

BB/Dark/Demon souls are my favorite games of the rpg genre but I haven't played any others in the "soulslike" genre that are even comparable, except maybe Blashphemy.

as far as RPGs go they aren't top tier. building a character is cool and there is some nice variety to be had, but i consider 'role playing' to be a lot more than that.

Souls games were always alright. Kind of like something to play that was kind of like elder scrolls. But their itemization and progression was boring for a RPG and gameplay was too slow paced for an action game. It is closer to an action game then a true western RPG though. But if you talking RPGs as a whole the best has always been JRPGs. They generally have more play time and more gear/progression based which is the bread and butter of a traditional rpg.

I love the Soulsborne games, and it's maybe my favorite franchise from the past decade, but I only really like what they have to offer when it's in relation to those games. what I mean is, I haven't really liked a Dark Souls-like game that wasn't from the Dark Souls series, Bloodborne, or Sekiro. I think that I probably prefer C/WRPGs these days, where there are multiple ways to accomplish something. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!
