Corrik kept trolling se7en, which led to se7en making a Top 1000 GameFAQs users of all time ranking to spite Corrik's joke User of the Year contest. It took se7en a long time to get through that ranking and Corrik trolled him throughout much of it with se7en often responding in hilarious fashion. Others might have more details. -OrangeCrush980

UltimaterializerX vs. Shadow of the Colossus (User Spite)



Well, well, well!... We have another Ulti rivalry, I see. This ones pretty famous. Even if you dont follow Ultis game reviews, Im sure you know how much of an abomination Ulti considers Shadow of the Colossus to be. In order to remain impartial as your host (and also because Ive had my own review of the game delayed for 7 years now [!]), I will not agree nor disagree with Ulti yet. Either way, the game is pretty divisive on its own, although, I gotta say, it is quite impressive what it has accomplished since its initial release in 2005. -Advokaiser

United States of America vs. Soviet Union (Historical Powerhouses)



Throughout human history, there have been several conflicts between different nations, and for different reasons. In a world that anteceded the globalization we now know, I cant recall a rivalry as dangerous as the USA vs. the USSR. The world had just had the most devastating war in history a few decades prior, and seeing how technology kept evolving with passing time, as well as the devastations that the entire world had previously seen, the potential of a cataclysm big enough to destroy humanity was an incredibly fearsome, but possible, thought. Either way, both powerhouses, divided by the quintessence of their own economic systems (Capitalism and Communism), and through a massive conflict known as the Cold War, made only a scary face towards the rest of the nations and held back their destructive potential. Traces of this rivalry still remain to this day, but things have definitely gotten a lot more chill. -Advokaiser

Super Smash Bros. Melee vs. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (GameFAQs Contest Match)



There's no need to get into how much hype went into this. It wasn't just how we all assumed the winner would win the contest, but the rivalry between these two games that's gone on since Brawl's release date. The match placement really speaks for itself. And for three hours or so, the match really lived up to its billing. Melee took a pretty sizable early lead thanks to brackets and Board 8 not liking Brawl very much, then slowed down a little over the next few hours. It increased like this until Europe's voting block really kicked in, and then Melee completely fell apart. Brawl was able to come back and take over the lead with little resistance because of what time this all went on, and then it just dominated the morning vote to win the match with over 51%. For how hyped this match was, to only deliver for 3 hours was kind of a letdown. And of course, it was also a letdown because the game we all wanted to see win lost. -UltimaterializerX (Board 8 Wiki)
