In hindsight it's clear we've always had a problem with racism and science denial. Both of those have become much more clear to me as I've dissociated from them.

But I cannot for the life of me believe that the majority of people in my party actually approve of this absolute sociopathic imbecile in the White House. Nearly everything he says is a lie, everything he does is clearly for his own personal gain... it's bonkers. And for so many people in power to just casually wave off QAnon's growing insanity is dangerous.

I don't know what the hell happened, but there's no way in Hell I could ever vote for anyone in the GOP again if this is who they really are (or at least, who they've become)

I'm absolutely positive I can't be the only one who feels this way, too. The GOP had a lot of problems even before all this mess, I'll admit, but they've cast their lot with a man who clearly is willing to wreck every facet of government and social support in a vain attempt to not take responsibility for anything.

It's treason. The dude is a traitor.

As much as I believe Bush Sr. and Reagan were evil (and they were, and they really fucked America up), look at the difference between the way they talked about immigration:

and the way Trumpists and most Republicans talk about immigrants today.

I'm a former Republican so you're not the only one and the reason why I became an independent. That party isn't the party I remember before Trump took over. It's basically an anti-America party and sadly the "conservatives" are ok with everything they're doing to hurt America and how many Americans are dying under this administration and somehow that's ok with them.

That is not a pro life party I grew up believing that they were, it's literally a death cult and a lawless party. That's why i have to swallow my pride and vote Democrats this time around to get rid of this socialpath from office and try to restore sanity and normality again but I'm afraid that may not come back anytime soon or if ever.

I am with you TC.

I was excited to finally, in 2016, vote for the Republican party for the first time and feel like I'm supporting through voting.

I am not making the same mistake, I will be voting for Biden, not 3rd party, not Trump, just straight up Biden. Even if he's not perfect, Biden will be the first step on the road to recovery for America. I still consider myself a Republican, and hate the ideals of the Democratic party, but I do not support this administration.

So anyone who is disgusted the way Republicans turn out recently is us pretending? Get over yourself. If you're fine with Trump killing over 180,000+ Americans and putting millions of Americans out of a job who is soon are about to be evicted then by all means vote for him.

Call us rinos if it makes you feel better but I'm done with the Republicans, I'm not supporting them unless they go through reform and go back to the traditional ways but sadly that seems very unlikely because most of you who is supporting Trump are ok with everything he is doing that put us in this pandemic and division he cause in the first place.

What part of the Republican party do you like? Endless wars? Lowering the taxes of the rich and corporations and raising your taxes? Kicking people off their healthcare so that they die? Systemically oppressing minorities and appealing to racism as a campaign strategy for the last 50 years? Deregulation leading to crashes, bailing out corporations and leaving you to foot the bill? These are the things the Republican Party stands for and has stood for since the days of Nixon.

This attitude is why your side is never going to win asian or Latino voters over ever again. The gop got to pack the country with voters harboring anti-communist sentiments, the exact way they always accuse Democrats of exploiting immigration, and then they were so racist they blew it up in a generation.
