The service based economy is what allows all this shit like day 1 DLC, incomplete at best releases, bugged to fuck games, online issues, monthly subscriptions (why give them the game when you can get "cheap" recurring payments of 5.99), microtransactions, etc. Gaming has been dogshit since 2007. --- Casual Revolution 2007 - 2016 ... other good answers, most of which probably tie into MTX: Games as a service, crunch, Clash of Clans, FOMO, employee abuse (things like sexual harassment or forcing them to watch gore in order to painstakingly accurately animate it), lack of preservation, "Buy it again!", lack of compression, and oh god I could go on and on and on --- Born to lose, live to win! overemphasis on graphics
