It depends 100% on the individual anime, how good the dub is and which voices fit the characters better (which is totally subjective)

Its easy to generalize. Dubs are generally better. For the simple fact i can understand them and not have to read. Its the exception, not the rule, that the original VAs are so good the experience is lesser without them.

I understand that sometimes the dub can be superior, but at the same time, you can't sit there and tell me that this isn't one of the funniest fucking things you've ever seen.

I prefer dubs, I just hate when they change lines so much that it changes subtle meaning in a discourse. Since I don't understand Japanese, I can't distinguish dialects that intend to paint a character a certain way. Meanwhile English is about a billion times more diverse so characters are more distinguishable in their voices.
Though there are some god awful dubs out there that will force me to watch the sub instead. --- Life is pain and misery beat skeet to asian street meat ... Copied to Clipboard!

Agreed, depends on the show. Some are better subbed, some are better dubbed, and some are about equal.
When an English dub puts in extra effort by adding locale-accurate accents (like Princess Principal's dub giving everyone British accents because the show actually takes place in London) or dubbing insert songs along with the dialogue to avoid awkward language switches (like the "God Knows" concert scene in Haruhi Suzumiya or all of the songs in Zombie Land Saga) that gets extra bonus points from me. --- "Someday I too will fly... and find you again!" https://imgur.com/ORhDSgu ... If Im watching something I generally want to dubbed so I can enjoy it better. Even more so for anime. If I wanted to read an anime why not go read the manga that doesnt have filler?
I generally like reading but sometimes subtitles take me out of the story cause Ive got to focus on two things at once --- ... Copied to Clipboard!
