theyre defective and have crashing issues from being made of cheap shit.

https://www.tomsguide.com/news/nvidia-rtx-3080-is-already-having-serious-problems-what-you-need-to-know

lmfao why do ppl feel the need to preorder and/or rush out to get these things? sometimes even willing to pay scalper prices when you know damn well your current card already plays the shit you actually play perfectly fine. Or they just play some minecraft, SNES graphics indie shit.

tbh i wouldnt even be surprized if the PS5 and Xbox is going to have issues

I got a new computer on order before these came out. I had a 2080 in my order, but when I looked at my invoice it had a 3080. So I hope either that is a mistake or I get a good 3080... This has me worried...

Because a lot of people want to stream and make YT videos and shit. And they love to show off their computer with the latest shit. All the kiddies that cant get their hands on something like a new card will click on a video showing it off or what it can do.

The hardware in those machines is pretty old, by computer standards. It's already been tried and tested. It should be fine.

The cards aren't defective, just made cheaply due to some of the partners cutting corners. It crashes because the natural boost pushes clocks too high for the noisy power delivery due to the cheap parts. It can be solved by just lowering the clock a little bit in something like MSI Afterburner.

It sucks, and the partners suck for doing it, but it isn't actually a defect and they do work fine.

Both systems are using AMD GPUs.

the cope and corporate cuck is strong in this one. for a $700 product it sounds pretty defective to me and people should be spreading how this $700 card has defects to discourage its purchase to lower their value and make them step their game up in the future with this shit

If I buy a $700 GPU, then it is defective if it cant deliver what I paid it to deliver.

I have a feeling nvidia saw what AMD did to Intel last year and wanted to avoid having the same done to them with big navi, so they're clocking the cards way higher than they would have otherwise, i'm guessing these factory clocks are too aggressive for some poorer examples of the silicon and you're seeing this happen.

AMD should come out with a massive campaign about their new cards being stable from the get go even if they don't match the price:performance ratio of nvidia 100%

It took months for AMD to get their 5700 series of cards out of the gutters, because of shoddy drivers. Their next card is going to have similar issues.

Isn't this also generally an issue with all powerful cards when they first come out? Older games not designed with these cards in mind just kinda crash the system?

No, not always anyway. I can play games through DOSBOX just fine on my RX 5700. Same for games designed for Win 95/98.
