Mega Man 2 and Castlevania 2 are both amazing games within the context of time, but are inferior to the PSX offerings of MMX4 and SotN. Or they've been updated/ported like Dr Mario, Ducktales, Dragon Quest 4, or Final Fantasy 3. . And crystalis is a great action+adventure+RPG but in practices you can play a Zelda title or God of War and get a similar experience imo. The only good and time-locked entries are the genre-melding ones, imo. Air Fortress, Guardian Legend, and Blaster Master.
