I think it's because it's CD Projekt Red. They are about quality over marketing like Ubisoft is doing with Watchdogs. Smaller studio. Just make great games.

It's pretty clear what it is which is an rpg gta style open world game in a cyberpunk universe made by cd projekt red which are the best. It's also going to be a crazy first person shooter with all sorts of augments. So it's pretty much everything anyone could want at least from a single player open world game.

Day 1 purchase on PS4 for me. Disappointed I won't be playing it on PC but at least it gets a free upgrade to PS5 which I may get by the end of the year.

I really would be surprised if it doesn't get 10's and like a 97 overall metacritic score. But the media can be so whatever it is now. It's going to be great. Legion may have the multiplayer and the "fun factor" that people ttalk about but this game is the real thing.

Screw Ubisoft although Legion might actually be alright. Play Ghosts of Tushima if you want real Assassin's creed. They basically have most genres covered in the open world genre at this point with quality there. LOU2 is more linear with Zombies. I don't do jrpgs. But even Yakuza and others.

A lot of people are expecting it to be a GTA game. Boy are they in for a shock.

They already confirmed it won't be on next gen consoles by its initial release. Might take a few months.

Im fully expecting the game to be hugely disappointing to me, just like Witcher 3 was. Also I fully acknowledge that this is just a personal preference issue.

The development has been a train wreck. It's obvious that the game is not in great shape, given that they're willing to go back on their "no crunch" promise despite several previous delays.

Heck, the Cyberpunk GPU is an RTX 2080 Ti, which nobody in their right minds would buy and the Cyberpunk Xbox One X (not series X) are testament to how delayed it is.

The Witcher 3 was a top 5 game of all time for me. I expect Cyberpunk to at least come close.

Game was announced May 2012. I didn't remember the month it was before looking it up, but I remember seeing it being announced back then

8 years worth of hype so I have none and will wait for reviews before buying it

or, you could just have a 3rd party camera and always see your characters body and all the action around you. You know, like every other rpg in the last 25 years has managed to do.

Eh gameplay looks more like Deus Ex and that wouldn't really work with a third person camera. Not everything works with both. You're gonna be in a lot of cramped corridors and apartments in Cyberpunk.

and if they made a map that's supposed to be 2x los santos in GTAV to make you spend the majority of your time in a fucking corridor. Then my interest will probably be even lower. Not to mention what a load of horseshit you can't have 3rd person camera in corriders. You just lower the angle like every cover based shooter has already done, or you full on old school rpg and top down it..

moving to a fucking top down perspective in this game would be much much dumber than just staying in 1st person

nothing is dumber than staying in 1st person in a game about personal customization, but that's why you ignored the or.

I can understand why they stuck with 1st person. You interact a lot with NPCs on a very personal level like fist bumping, sharing a drink, dancing, etc and I feel a 3rd person perspective will not convey what the devs are pushing for. In short, immersion!

I've become more concerned about it after the removal of features and the delays but it's still a day 1 buy, which is a rarity for me.

I expect it to be one of the first mods. Hopefully modders can actually make it work without looking too stupid. Personally, I have no issue with forced first person because I play in first person probably 90% of the time in games where you can choose both perspectives. And I've never cared too much about how my character looks. I won't be spending an hour in the character creator like many others probably will. But I do think the game should have been designed with both perspectives in mind.

I'm still pretty excited for it though. I don't think Cyberpunk will be the best game ever, but I do think it will help get me back into WRPGs again.
