Harris County, one of the largest districts in the US, has already shattered all records for turnout. Yesterday was the LARGEST first day of early voting on record, as well.

If Trump ends up losing Texas, itll be over for him on election night and we could put his whole disaster of a presidency behind us.

He lost by 200k votes to an incumbent. About 2%. He barely lost.

And since hes helped MILLIONS get registered for this election, Id say hes doing his part to help Cornyn and Trump lose in Texas.

Why are dey assuming dey are blue votes doe

Most the country doesn't like Trump and is more Democrat leaning

But they don't vote. Especially young voters.

High Voter turn out is almost always HUGE for the parties that are more to the left. The right wing lives on the fact only a tiny amount of people vote.

This is why the left encourages everyone to go out and vote while the right tells people not to and closes polling stations.

Texas isn't going blue tho lol

Record turnout always leans blue, historically. Lots of newly registered voters are kids who turned 18 since 2016/2018.

Plus, records were shattered in all major cities. Harris county, which Clinton won HUGE in 2016, will follow suit if you look at data from 2016 and 2018.

Not all of them are Biden votes, though it's possible the majority are, hopefully.

Yep. Populations in the urban areas in Texas have grown substantially since 2016. Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, Houston, and San Antonio all have major booming real estate markets because everyone is flocking to Texas.

Yes, Texas is big and has a lot of small towns/counties...but we also have Harris County, with a population of 4.7 million people in one county alone.

The rural population of Texas is shrinking.

absolutely. Kids that grow up in bum fuck middle of nowhere Texas dont want to live and die in that same town they grew up in anymore.

Major cities are much more appealing to younger people, obviously. Small town Texas is a shrinking influence on politics in the state.

Its all speculation at this point, lets be real. But historically, there has been very low voter turnout until 2018, when Beto got a lot of younger people involved and registered.

Im being optimistic that young people, black and Hispanic people, and the historically apathetic voters realize the importance of this election. I think Im right though, after seeing how crazy turnout has been even in 1 day of early voting.

Looking like lines are just as long today, too.

Native Texan here, the tide is turning. The only reason Texas has been considered a Republican lock in statewide and Presidential elections is because this is largely a non-voting state. Newly registered voters, people relocating here from other areas and a wildly unpopular President is going to drive people to the polls in droves.

I agree, but I dont think weve ever been in a situation like this in American history. A massive financial crisis on top of a pandemic, with the most divided country weve ever had.

Plus, people are paying attention to politics more than we ever have in the past, historically. Doesnt necessarily mean Democrats will win, but its all just so unprecedented that I think assuming Texas will instantly go red is very incorrect.

Those 214 red counties have a population that is roughly equivalent to that of Harris County, 4.7 million people. Texas has become an urban state, despite how many of us like to think of ourselves. The tide is turning here, that's why the GOP has ramped up their voter suppression efforts.
