Because gyms are closed (and now will be until mid-Jan at the earliest in my area), my daily workout has been pushups and exercises with a resistance band, those being bicep curls, triceps extensions, rows, side lateral raises, and squats. Also been going for a 4 mile run/walk.

I do a few pulling motions throughout the week the recruit my biceps of course just no curls at the moment. Today I did chin ups, dumbbell rows, and facepulls (with a resistance band).

Yeah resistance bands are pretty handy. I bought some earlier in the pandemic. Luckily I also have some space and had a squat rack, bench, and exercise bike before the pandemic. So I haven't really been hindered at all, for which I'm grateful.

I did the whole heavy whipping cream whey shakes thing again today, but instead of trying to eat it all in one sitting like yesterday I split it up. One in the morning before murdering my arms, another after murdering my arms alongside six boiled eggs dipped in extra virgin olive oil and pink salt. I devoured some street tacos earlier with extra meat and habanero salsa. My carb count for today is somewhere at about 100 grams or under. Yesterday was about 50-60+ grams.

Yeah I def gotta eat more. I've had a 6 egg omelette with spinach and ham, 2 cups of full fat greek yogurt, few handfuls of mixed nuts. Plus a protein shake and a few popsicles (they're basically frozen Gatorade)

Same, chins work my elbow flexors a lot. Brachialis is always pumped after pull-ups. Facepulls during the eccentric I try to keep my hands as far apart as possible so I don't use elbow flexors.

I'd say most arm work is accessory except targeting the triceps long-head. That's essential

I think I'm getting back to where I was at my best a year or so ago. Lower abs are still a bit nonexistent though, and chest needs a lot of work. I've been eating around 2200-2500 calories, think I'll see what happens if I bump it up to 3000 and try to cut back on the sugar a bit. At around 5'9", 135-140 lbs. right now -- I'm not quite sure what weight I want to be at in the long run but I think I wanna see what happens if I push it up to the 145-150 range.

I had a lot of trouble working out at first because of this. Since I spent all my life writing guides on GameFAQs, my neck has poor forward posture. I had to make sure to never move my neck while doing any sort of weight lifting.

Gotta get some resistance bands bro!

But yeah that sucks man. Im gonna need to get a real squat rack pretty soon... I only have a half rack with a 300 lb capacity. I'm gonna outgrow it in a couple months (knock on wood)

All the overpriced weights I ordered are taking longer to get here than they were supposed to, too

"eat when you're hungry and up it a tiny bit if your lifts start to stall" is a lot more reasonable, IME

Whats the best free weight replacement for face pulls?

I'm currently at 179 after about a week of being at 179. But my body is looking significantly better after 1 week...belly is shrinking, love handles decreasing. I've been super strict on diet and hitting my protein goals every day. I started lifting recently too so I think part of the weight fluctuations are actually gaining water weight from lifting.

You can start and see really surprising progress on a really simple routine -- pushups and bodyweight squats x3 sets every morning or something

There is something that is stopping me from starting exercise

The reason I've had so much success with dieting is because I'm using mathematics to determine how much I should eat. I never exceed 1400 calories a day, unless I'm with friends or family which is extremely rare. Every product I buy has the amount of calories listed on it, so it's easy.

if I introduce exercising, I don't know how I can mathematically determine anything from that. As far as I know, there's no way to know how many calories you burn from doing a workout. Am I wrong on that? And people keep telling me "you should increase your calorie amount and just work out instead" but that completely throws away the mathematics involved.

You're right you can't really calculate calorie burn

Strength training isn't a calorie burner anyway. If you have more muscle you'll store less fat. The only math involved is trying to do one more rep than last time
