So basically, the first game you ever played would be your favorite by default, and it would be replaced when you'd eventually play a game that was your new all time favorite. Meaning you'd (theoretically) have most of your changes in the early days, and less as time went on. The last game on your list would be your current favorite game of all time.

Both of these are tons of fun too. I can't put them in the best of all time just yet but you never know. StS especially is so good. That's the game where I'll be playing and then look up and it's 2 in the morning.

Honestly thats probably only somewhat accurate. I still consider MH my favorite franchise but I feel 3U was the best one. Dark souls 3 is my favorite dark souls but I like Nioh better than any of them. I really like sekiro a lot. I REALLY like warband as well as the tales of series (graces f is probably my favorite).

Halo 2 was the only game I felt comfortable really devoting myself to playing. I probably put 10k hours into halo 2. Even though I really love some other series, theres always some critical flaw that keeps me from really throwing myself into it for the long haul. Like MH is great but theres significant problems with each one. Honorable mentions to hollow knight, ark, and raiderz.

something like this, but very rough (for example, exactly *when* did I first play/see SMB1? I only got small tastes of it for such a long time before I finally owned it. I had an SMS a long time before owning an NES. so, was SMB1 my favorite before I owned it? (probably, that game was like crack to 10yo me) and what games would that override? I can't remember.)

(another problem is combining the chronology of console games and PC games... might as well be impossible to merge those.)

I wouldn't say I ever had a favourite game of all time, just a group of favourites that just kept getting added to. I've always thought it's silly to try and compare a story-heavy RPG like Chrono Trigger to a puzzle game like Tetris Attack to a competitive fighter like Super Smash Bros. to a puzzle-platformer like Banjo Kazooie. All of those games provide very, very different play experiences and are entertaining for completely different reasons, so you're basically comparing apples and table saws. Accordingly, I usually don't "rank" my favourite games and have one favourite overall. Here's a list of games that, at one time or another, wound up on that list (and, in most cases, are still there) in the order in which I played them.

I dunno why there are so many ff7 fans. Vincent valentine's character was trash but had a huge following, cloud was the blank puppet they had been using since ff2, and aerris perma death in the game was stupid as your characters can literally be stomped by a kaiju and revived but she gets the cleanest injury out of any final fantasy character and she cant be revived. As least when square killed chrono in chronotrigger lavos gave him a snap styled death so there was nothing to rez.

I just dont understand the fans core mindset. Especially when you have xenogears or chrono cross as rivals heck breath of fire 3 was better.

I guess thats the draw back of playing rpgs since dragon warrior and final fantasy the original. To me it just seemed less than what they had done before. I mean dont get me wrong I can see a lot of games for there merits but to me ff7 was worse than a game released on the prior gen two years prior.

I mean I hate dark souls and all the games like it. However I can understand what draws people to it. I hate cod and the imitations but understand why people love it. It just feels that ff7 tried to get the fledgling weebs and emos to fall into line.
