It's still wild to me that you think Harris is a far left. Her record as a prosecutor is isn't exactly radical.

If anything, her track record is one of a politician playing the political game, and her reputation earned is one who cries about the wrongs done to her or those she cares about. To say "far left" might not be accurate so much as needing to say upper left or lower left on the actual alignment chart.

AFAIK, one case that the electoral process itself won more than the party did. The court in PA ruled that ballots dated after November 3 cannot be voted, which means that Biden's present lead in that state remains and NOT that votes for him will be removed.

Dated after? I thought it was dated by the 3rd and received after. Either way I wasn't expecting that case to go through and that is why they sequestered the late arriving vote and it hasn't been counted while the case was pending.

What is sadder still is how many defer to Communism when you ask them to back up examples of Socialism being bad, or how many point to such examples where individuals in power do terrible things with it.

I don't remember the specific post that got you purg'd this last time, but I remember it was roughly as bad as "good, it's about time somebody finished off the gays." There was absolutely no doubt in anyone's mind that you deserved that moderation, because it was a clear and flagrant violation of the ToU as well as of basic human decency. You were not purg'd for your political leanings, you were purg'd for acting like a despicable human being.

One can explain the practical concerns associated with socialist ideologies and policies without getting modded. Very easily. If you cannot, it's not because of a biased mod team, it's because you lack the self-control needed to have a civilized conversation.

Again, these countries are not socialist! Their economies operate stronger welfare states, but they do also pratice private, market-based economies and are not categorized as socialism.

And yes, the distinction absolutely matters if we want to have an informative discussion about economics and politics.

Which, really, is the distinction that folks that haven't moved on from the Cold War struggle with. Implementing socialist policies - even significant, society-altering ones - does not mean abandoning all non-socialist government. There are elements of socialism that work well and elements that don't. There are elements of capitalism that work well and elements that don't. This is not an all-or-nothing deal; a country can very easily incorporate elements from one system to complement strengths or shore up weaknesses of others.

"Socialism bad" contributes nothing to such optimization efforts. Nor does "Capitalism bad." Governments and societies are vastly more nuanced than that, and attempting to pretend otherwise is indescribably foolish.
