I have a feast planned (for 2 people....will have lots of leftovers) so will still have that going.

And I'll be zooming the fam.

Not quite the same, but it is what it is.

We don't really plan for such things, since a lot of our family members have died in the past seven years. I don't think COVID is making much of a difference.

Well, huge celebrations are going to be tiny and, quite honestly, I wish I could just be out of it entirely but my arm has been twisted.

Geez, next you're going to tell me you don't celebrate the Fourth of July! =p

No. I mean, I had no plans this year, anyway. So, I'll probably just ended up going to a friends house and playing a game. And this weekend, going to another friends house to get drunk and watch a shit ton of anime for like 3 days straight...

No effect for us.
Making a full Thaksgiving dinner for the 2 of us and eating leftovers for a week, same as always.
Never bothered to travel home for it before, obviously still won't.

Will be the first Christmas we don't travel home, though.

Somewhat. I have accepted this is how Life will be for the foreseeable future but Thanksgiving is one of my family & relatives major gatherings. I always look forward to seeing my aunts, uncles, cousins, cousin's kids, etc. during Thanksgiving.

Yeah I'll be somewhat sad, my dad and I are the main cooks in the family and I love spending half a day in the kitchen with him with timetables for all the dishes we make.

But rather miss one than many more.

My roommate bought a turkey at the end of September and there was no room in the freezer and it couldn't survive in the fridge for 2 months, so I made "Thanksgiving dinner" on October 3rd. I lined the bottom of the roasting pan with potatoes, carrots, parsnips, and onions, which soaked up all the juices from the turkey. I'm not sure which was better, the turkey or the veggies.

America being real stupid as a lot of people who otherwise follow pandemic rules normally are making an exception for the holidays as if the virus gives a flying fuck why you're getting together with people.

I usually play football with a bunch of friends but that's looking questionable atm.

Ngl I don't mind not having extended family all over, nor do I mind eating their share of the food.

If you can get together for a riot with people you don't know the health status of, you can get together with family members who you most likely know the health status of. House full of kids who've been going to school, bringing home whatever the hell? And that's somehow less of a concern?

Since my mother in law died last year around this time, Thanksgiving wasn't going to be the same, Covid or no Covid. We're doing Zoom calls to the relatives but not expecting anyone other than the three of us to attend dinner at our home.

That's what I was referencing. That dude could easily pass for 30. Even if he did look young, he's supposed to be a teen, not a toddler.
