Honestly I got caught up in the rex looking ones and didn't think about it.. I have been questioning myself for that choice. Bulba is always my starter in Kanto.

Technically, there are no dinosaurs in Pokemon.

From dictionary.com:

"dinosaur

"noun
"any chiefly terrestrial, herbivorous or carnivorous reptile of the extinct orders Saurischia and Ornithischia, from the Mesozoic Era, certain species of which are the largest known land animals."

In Pokemon, the Mesozoic era does not exist, nor do the orders Saurischia and Ornithischia. So, no dinosaurs.
