The answer to that riddle is "the pool is a planet and the man is a room outside", and thus you did in fact find a planet with a telescope earlier.

How can you win this bet?

She has an umbrella meaning it must be raining. So that for the most part eliminates the outside, since with rain comes clouds, and with clouds you can't really look into the sky. I have a feeling it has to do with looking into the telescope and the clock, but I have no idea how.

The hands do revolve around the clock. But there's really nothing on a clock that the telescope will find that the naked eye won't. Wondering why brain clinic has a telescope. Might have to do with the instruments used there

What does "real planet" means?

If Im in a brain clinic probably Im going crazy or about to have a brain surgery. My surgery is probably at 12pm. If something goes wrong I will die and my ghost will be able to grab the telescope while on its way to heaven, then I can look back at planet earth and win $1M because thats probably how much my life insurance would pay for my death

1) Its a test to see if you have cancer or something and see spots that aren't there
2) It's not an optical telescope, you're in a "brain clinic" why not an x-ray telescope or radio telescope or something.

The clock is set to the incorrect time. It's actually in the evening and the assistant is taking a very late lunch break. To win, you have to spot Venus or another actual planet in the sky after an hour has passed, which you can do due it being dark out and not actually being 12pm.

Neptune is visible around 11:50 according to Google, but I have to discover it...

I use the telescope to beat a scientist down and give me info regarding a new planet and provide the info.

Depends on the time of year, but right now both Venus and Mercury are within visual distance. Just can't see them during the day. Aim the telescope at their easily Googleable co-ordinates, and say "Boom, bitch! One million please."

Ok I have it figured out

First you are the one dragons fear, in their tongue you are Dovahkiin Dragonborn! Use the clear skies shout to make the rain stop.

Then pull out Auriel's Bow, and fire a blood cursed arrow at the sun blocking it out for the rest of the day. This way you can see the stars at 12pm.

Use the telescope to find the planet and boom you win!

As to why you are the Dragonborn you are at a brain clinic so you obviously have a tumor or some brain trauma that is hurting your grip on reality so really you imagined this whole scenario and the assistant's challenge. So while you sit there celebrating your new found million, you are actually just sitting in a chair with family or helpers while waiting for your appointment while drooling on yourself.

The assistant with the umbrella is Mary Poppins. The planet is a chalk drawing of Pluto on the clinics parking lot. You zoom in and are teleported into a cartoon space world, but are told that Pluto isnt really a planet so you dont get the money.
