I never quite understood the attitude expressed in #3, though it's not quite as common as, say, 10 years ago. It seems kind of performative. Like what does it really mean, 'taking CE too seriously'? Is it that it's seen as a more impersonal social situation than an IRL one, and so a lesser one? And treating it as you would treat an IRL one, or treating people here as you would treat people you meet implies some deficiency preventing you from doing the same off CE?

XD. That's exactly how it would turn out. Some posters I'm like "Have I known this person for 2 years or is this the first time I seen them?". But this helps me not take it to heart when people don't remember me. That would be hypocritical.
