Haven't played FF12 since '07 or so, but I remember having a few good memories at the Pharos (before the dawning realization of how long it was, probably) and have none of the Crystal. So...let's vote Crystal.

Honestly the worst part of Pharos is the stuff unlocked later on for that one hunt in the basement, the shadow orbs or whatever. The story parts aren't too bad and get plenty of good loot drops if you get any rare spawns.

Great Crystal by far. On top of being horribly designed, you have to navigate through Giruvegan first, where enemies love to afflict Disease on you, which is difficult to cure on a blind playthrough. Whole area is a headache.

Crystal is needlessly annoying and complicated.

Also, last I checked the spawn conditions for the Larva Eater are obtuse.

I have a hard time bashing the Great Crystal because I remember going in OP and having a map of the area. Without that though, that place is totally a complicated maze.

I never really minded Pharos, and I think there was like one Cloister I really didn't like but it's been a while.

I voted for Cloister of Trials, but I meant to click Great Crystal. I get a headache just thinking about navigating that place even with a strategy guide in my lap.

I too went into the Great Crystal with a map (and I love the background music), so I'm more forgiving of it than most. Having said that, I still voted for it.

I think it's fair to say that the Pharos and Great Crystal are good examples of designing a punishing late-game gauntlet the right and wrong ways, respectively.

By far, the Great Crystal. Spent way too much time in there before knowing there was a map, and even with one, it's not fun.
