Also, for anyone interested. The losing candidate can request a recount in GA if the margin is <= 0.5%. There are no automatic recounts. If the needle holds as it currently is, both Warnock and Ossoff would win comfortably outside that margin.

Though GA law also technically allows for election officials, including the SoS, to order a recount if there "appears to be a discrepancy or error in the returns."

Purdue's lead over 100k now, at 114k with that last update from Floyd. Percentage lead up to 3%. 87% in, so Ossoff needs to win approximately 60/40 with the remaining votes to tie assuming the 87% is accurate. Not sure if Loeffler is going to get to 100k, although she is finally over 51%.

It's also an incredibly old story that's been told for years by her, yet no one seemed to give a shit until she became Vice President-elect.

To be clear, I'm not attacking them for it. This is likely CNN's biggest ratings/viewers potential for years to come, God forbid some kind of horrible disaster. Saying it's over, wrap it up less than 4 hours in would be catastrophic for them. It sucks, but is what it is.

Yup, same reason why Fox is still having people on projecting that the GOP can still win. It's not a partisan issue, it's money-making issue. CNN goes to sensationalism and Fox goes to conservative victimization, but it's all about what they think will get views.

I heard this was wrong as well from someone (probably citing the same sources). This kind of thing happened during the presidential election too.
