I was informed about this game existing earlier today by a friend. When I went to look at steam discussion for the lulz, I discovered 'no butt, no buy' type topics and was quite amused at people feeling so passionate about Miranda's posterior.

Frankly, I'm more annoyed at it requiring origin, making the steam version little more than a promotional ad for such. Why would I want to tie it to steam such that I would need to have both steam and origin going at once?

Thankfully, I can rest assured that modders will solve all of these issues, making all of this pretty much a pointless nonissue.

Plus, I expect r34 artists to have a field day with such revived interest in Miranda's behind. Everybody wins!

Yea, I don't see it mention that on either dictionary.com or merriam-webster, and whoever added that on wiki is clearly trying to add meanings to the word that were never intended. Not to say that dictionary and merriam webster aren't infallible, but the history of the word has absolutely nothing to do with viewing women sexually or wanting to see them in a sexual way. That being the case, I highly doubt that gamers who are claiming to not be misogynists are making that statement based on the definition you are using.

I get that terms change over time, but they have to make sense and this case I just don't think that's the case. Adding that context to the word is like adding theft to physical assault. They're both bad, but are clearly varying degrees of bad, and you wouldn't say that someone running by you snatching your purse out of your hand and fleeing is assault.

I'm not saying treating women as if they're just a sex object isn't bad, of course it is, but it isn't on the same level as outright hating them at least to me.

When I say the history of the word, I mean the beginnings of it. I'm not referring to the past 50 years, but where the word actually came from.

I don't intend to nor will ever defend someone who only sees women as sexual objects, but I don't see that as the same as wanting to see sexually pleasing things. As a straight man, I'm not going to say I don't like a nice female butt, however I'm interested in the rest of her as well. Would you call that misogynistic? I wouldn't think so.

Anyways I don't think the solution is to show less butt, but to show more butts. Throw in some low camera angles for Jacob and Garrus, maybe get some krogan crotch all up in the lens.

As long as the sexualization is equal then I think it should be fine

I dont remember stuff well enough to say for sure if this is true, but I saw comments saying there were some weird shots of her butt during what were otherwise serious scenes in the original game in a way that undercut the seriousness. making these changes is probably the right choice for the actual quality of the game rather than some arbitrary puritanical decision.

I doubt anyone playing the game for the first time will watch these edited scenes and think why arent they focusing the camera on her butt more during this conversation about her father
