I can easily believe that Wakanda would have video surveillance of the entire Infinity War Thanos battle. And Professor Hulk became like a celebrity during those five years, so he probably talked a lot about it.

I haven't seen the Thanos movies but didn't Monica skip all that because she was 'snapped' or whatever? I forget how long the gap is between her coming back and Westview starting.

Either way it's probably overthinking it, the characters make snappy comments about specific events in those movies because they're fan surrogates or explaining things to the audience, not for any rational in-universe reason.

It's funny, I rewatched Infinity War last night and there's literally nobody else around when the Mind Stone is destroyed. Thor shows up afterwards to cleave Thanos, but it's unclear if he saw anything and Wanda gets dusted right after. I have no real idea how a super specific detail like "Thanos rewound time" was ever found out by the public. Maybe Wanda told people? But it's only been 3 weeks since Endgame apparently and she clearly wasn't doing well. The fact that it's so common knowledge so soon is kind of weird. Also did Darcy get snapped?

What are you even talking about here? Are you sure you just rewatched Infinity War last night?

Half the Avengers were literally right there.... they had all just been beaten down by Thanos as they tried to buy Wanda time and/or take Thanos down, but it's very likely they weren't all unconscious and unable to see what was happening. Most of them immediately witness people being blipped, after all.

Is Agents of Shield worth my time?

The first season is bad to mediocre, with some signs of life after a shift about 3/4 the way into the season (people say it gets GOOD to GREAT at that point, but honestly, it's still poorly made in a lot of ways)

I thought season 2 was good and it's a steady upwards climb in quality every season afterwards. It's a constantly evolving show in many ways. While many characters stick around, I don't think there's really a "status quo" here, despite the reputation of being about boring Agents or whatever.

So like... if you are down to watch a lot of hours of MCU content that is going to take a while to ramp up, yes. If not, nah.

There are some really stand out characters that I love though.

Maybe I'll dip my toes into Agent Carter first. Shorter time commitment, though I feel like it was canceled really fast.

I think the first season is phenomenal and pretty much a perfect show. I love Peggy Carter and would recommend it to anyone.

The second season... not so much. I kinda wish it had just been a one season mini series to begin with.

The one shot is a great taste of the show though!

Peggy in Cap 1 triggered something in me for 40s style women so any mediocrity for her show will likely be easily overlooked by my dumb brain.

I think Monica does act somewhat recklessly but it's minor enough to be explained away with simple explanations like we speculated here. If they gave a few scenes/lines explaining Monica's thought process I think it would've gone a long way.

i just explain monica's behavior away with "she's not a logical person and often acts intuitively." seems simple enough to me. nobody said she's flawless.

I don't think Monica needs to be acting rationally but the framing of some of her scenes is weird. I do agree with the criticism of the truck scene because it just feels...pointless? I can see where the thought process is - they try to enter with a super advanced vehicle, it kind of gets through and Monica sees that it got halfway through and decides to try herself - but something about the way the scene is just awkward instead of dramatic. I dunno.

I feel a similar way about the earlier scene with her weird test results, and she gets mad when they ask to run more tests. Why? Trauma from losing her mother to cancer? That's a great reason, but it feels like it gets glossed over because they don't want to tip their hands about her powers developing too soon (which also might have let us skip the stupid truck). I just wish Monica had more time to unpack stuff as a character instead of mostly being subject to what has to happen for the plot.

that scene bothered me too, especially jimmy's "she always does that!" comment. jimmy should have said "monica these tests are important, wtf are you doing?", not "WELL MONICA'S GONNA MONICA HERP DERP."

still hate the way darcy and jimmy are constantly quipping and joking around, btw. i get that this is the kind of thing people love the MCU for but it just makes it feel like there's no weight to anything happening outside the hex. i'm glad that monica has a super serious attitude, at least.

even if he can't force her to do anything, he could still object to what she's doing because he cares about her, though.

in the last episode, he said "monica, no!" when monica made clear she was going to throw herself into the hex. he wasn't like "well, i have no authority over her so i guess i'll just potentially let her kill herself."

I mean, if your only two interactions with someone is them doing rash things then that comment would be accurate from your perspective lol. Also we had seen how Hayward treated the people that don't directly work for him, Woo could have been concerned about overstepping his boundaries.

i really don't think the X-Men thing that people think are going to happen is going to happen. I think the Pietro thing may hint at future things to come, but I think it's mostly a little meta-joke for us, the audience. But I don't think there's gonna be enough room in this story to suddenly dump Magneto on us. I think the most that could happen is that Wanda might be called Scarlet Witch at some point since they've kinda teased the whole 'she doesn't have a superhero name' thing.
