i can logically follow the argument GOP is making about voter ID rules even if i dont agree with it. but, like, how in the fuck does it make ANY sense to take away early voting opportunities or to literally make it a crime to handout water to people standing in line? these people are just pure corruption.

Makes it harder to stand in line and vote. The less people voting the more Republicans win. The know they can't win legitimately so they have to cheat or use other bullshit methods to keep people from voting like gerrymandering, making people bend over backwards to get IDs to vote, screwing with the mail, and lessen the number of places to vote.

Make vote by mail needlessly difficult.

Make voting lines long as hell in certain neighborhoods.

Make it so that other parties can't provide simple comforts to allow folks to remain in line.

That's the thing: they don't. They just don't justify it. They just mention some vague tangentially-related thing in the same announcement and let their idiot voterbase do the mental gymnastics for them.
