Florida was touted as the future hub of American finance as a slew of billionaires opened up offices in the sunshine state as the uber wealthy were lured by Republicans who say they are welcome to bring their wealth here and be safe from the crime that haunts the big apple as well as low taxes and fewer restrictions from covid lockdowns. But now a number of them are having second thoughts about life there because not only is the weather a hassle but the cultural and educational opportunities in Florida don't compare to the big apple Jason Mudrick is one who said "The main problem with moving to Florida is that you have to live in Florida" who has 3 billion at Mudrick Capital Management Many of his wealthy friends already made the move down south but now they are trickling back north now that cases are dropping He said "New York has the smartest, most driven people, the best culture, the best restaurants and the best theatres. And I say that as someone that got married in Florida and for years thought I wanted to move there b/c I like the weather (well, in some areas where the sea breeze keeps the humidity from being too bad). But I gradually realized it's just not a good idea. Solely b/c of the people that inhabit it. There was a saying about Columbia, something like: "God gave us the most beautiful of countries, and the most evil of men."
