Well... technically... you can find almost anything because other players can leave Time Capsules behind when they finish the game. I got a Repulsion Cannon that way. But time capsules are spawned randomly on the map, and the odds of finding one where someone left a Rad Suit is pretty slim. I've been all over the map in my PC play through, built bases in every biome, and I've still only come across maybe three time capsules.

I wouldn't sweat going to the ship without propulsion/repulsion. One of the blockades you kan actually bypass by standing on a box and run/jumping over. IIRC, you just need scanner, light, lazer, and repair to get the essentials (and maybe 1 extra fire extinguisher) and you'll fill your inventory. I need to go for a second trip sometime.

I build my first base right next to my life pod. Typically all I have is a moon pool and some storage lockers. I dont build a second base until I get to certain tree very deep down

I never understood the need for anything other than 2-3 solar panels on the first base. Bioreactors and thermal generators are overkill, although you will want them on a deep base

I can put my mods back on the new seamoth.
put some storage on it too, which is great for the reinforced suit and gloves.

Playing a dangerous game though.... if this one gets eaten too, Ill lose quite a bit

Anyone else get super disoriented in the underwater caves? Im not sure if Id consider it motion sickness, but sometimes I gotta pause to recompose myself lol

its even worse while in the seamoth

Yeah. Wrecks are nerve racking as hell, especially when youre like three or four rooms deep.

Yesssss! And then you gotta try to find which direction the last room was in, start working yourself back, while not panicking and running out of oxygen

ive noticed some of the wrecks have multiple paths of entry, so you can actually make wrong turns

It just feels like a checklist chore rather than fun.

It was cool when minecraft did it but that was a long long time ago now

How essential is it that I wear the radiation helmet when in a radioactive zone? I found a cave network deeper than 100 meters down, so I would like to wear my rebreather but it's in a radioactive zone. So, should I wear the rebreather or the rad helmet?

Youll get damaged if you arent in full radioactive gear, until you do certain things

i made the mistake of making my base there, because I had my radioactive suit on when making it. Didnt realize where I was until it was too late lol

I need 1 more scan, then I'll be able to build the vehicle bay.

Last night, while exploring, I got the message "Detecting multiple leviathan class lifeforms in the region. Are you certain whatever you're doing is worth it?" I've never turned around so fast in my life lol.

Edit: You will get a blueprint for a battery charging station as you explore. Until then, the only way is to craft more batteries. Not a huge deal because the batteries recharge slowly anyway, so you're going to want more than 1 regardless.

youll eventually get a battery charger, but it takes a bit. I tossed plenty of empty batteries before getting my charger.

as for getting into those deep caves with only your radiation helmet- couple options here

1. get a seamoth
2. carry a spare 02 tank. It can be an advanced one too.
3. I havent done this, but you can use the pipe air system
4. the Purple brain things shoot out oxygen, not sure if there are any in the region. You just have to hover above it; and youll see it shoot some big bubbles up

hahaha yep. Theres quite a few good lines from the PDA. most do a good job of instilling fear

this will really change the game, when you do.

you can park your seamoth park right above its crush depth, and use it for basically infinite oxygen.

your o2 tanks will fill while inside.

so instead of having to swim all the way back to the surface, you just have to make it to that

Nope, my time capsule had hatching enzymes only.

The rad suit pieces are outside one of the lifepods near the aurora just outside its radiation zone (I think its pods 5-7 that it says came equipped with suits). The one you can find isnt inside the pod, its scattered right around it on the ocean floor.

Its the lifepod with the recording where the woman died because she forgot to zip it up before going outside.

I can find absolutely nothing to suggest this is true. Rad Suits are not in supply crates, they're not listed as being available at any lifepod, and I've never heard of rad suits laying around on the ocean floor.

OH, okay. Yeah, it was an older build. Lifepod 6 had a rad suit outside. Now in full release it has flares, the ultraglide fins blueprint, and lead.

Yeah, I got mine with the enzymes before my Aurora blew up. Luckily since I had seen LPs of it before launch, I knew how important they were and got them tucked away in my lifepod immediately.

Hope whoever found my time capsule got good use out of 4 ion batteries and 2 ion power cells.

Your best chance at finding one is in the Sparse Reef. That's where I found two of mine. Both my capsules were pretty good. I got my repulsion cannon early that way, before I even went to the Aurora. My second capsule had like a habitat builder and thermo blade, which wasn't as useful since I found it post-story.

Not every time capsule ends up in-game. There's like a voting system...
