Also I remember not realising fibremesh could be got from the vines and putting loads of time in without some basic items because of it.

I had the same issue with Creepvine Seed Clusters. I think I did try to grab some, but I was so terrified of the Kelp Forest that I somehow missed and then assumed they weren't harvestable lol.

Nickle is pretty deep and doesn't stand out much. Kyanite is the deepest, but easily stands out.I haven't found any that didn't require the Prawn drill.

Theres pieces you can pick up in the tunnels inside the lava castle, which is really end game if anyone is thinking about clicking on the spoiler tag.

I always used the Cyclops when traversing down into the deepest regions of the map. Having tons of extra storage space and a fabricator available is massively useful

Managed to squeeze in some play time this morning. Found the thermal plant in the lava kastle, and the warp back to mountain island. Shame they're so late, but I'm hooking up most of my gear with Ion batteries/powercells. Might attempt the 'lakes next. Lookin good.

Ok, I just got the call from Sunbeam, telling me it found a landing spot and not to be late, so I followed the marker, and I found the Island. Now judging from the position of the crashed ship, and my lifepod, I cannot fathom how I never came across it before. It's almost as if it just appeared there.

The game cheats a little in this regard. Islands are obscured by fog until you get close to them.

You just didn't find it. It's relatively far away from the Shallows and you wouldn't have had any reason to go that way.

Game Beaten. Not advised for a first run, but did it without the Sunbeam blowing up.

Honestly, I was gonna hold off on ending the game. Just get near the end to know what's what/where and then maybe make I nice base or something, but it's been around 100 days. Glitches and pop-in are getting a lot more noticeable. I was fighting the last Sea Dragon, went inside to repair my prawn, then the bastard was gone. Heard him, looked all over, but just kouldn't find him. Then last night he appears through sold rock to drag me through the wall and out of bounds. Had to hurry back or risk my prawn falling into the void forever.

Also no Platinum Trophy, though. Forgot to hatch one of my two kuddly eggs.

Don't answer the radio to trigger the event. I reloaded to right before the message that triggers the timer and just went on doing everything without the radio. Finding certain lifepods with no map or radio required guides, but the Degasi stuff is straight forward enough once you find the floating island. Once you get kured and deactivate the big kanon, you're free to answer them again. Apparently this was an oversite and the krew would still get shot, but after it was brought to the devs attention, they made it play out a bit different.

You get more story from the PDA anyway. Plus, it's not like you miss the radio messages. You just get them late.

I forget how many lifepod messages the radio gave me before ignore time. I know it was at least number 3 and the one by jellyshroom kave.

last night I made it to the alien base in the lost River. I didnt have a purple tablet, so I couldnt fully explore it. But I did do the self scan, and it basically said I have an irreversible infection

am I close?

I doubt it. The timer I mention is visible and something you'd have to go out of your way to avoid early in the game. The only other time related thing I know of is the ship blowing and becoming explorable, but that's arguably earlier and impossible to miss.

Most of them are in the last one. There's one in the second to last, and one that links one island to another.

Interesting. But I still wanna start over. Again, I took my sweet sweet time beating it, and near the end, thing felt a bit more unstable n glitchy. Wanna see if getting there faster improves this, or if it's inevitable there deeper/wider you explore.

I experienced the floor one myself, and oh yeah, would've been fucked without the grapple. There are bubble animations, so does the game think I'm underwater?
Once I was rushing to go through it and back to base, zipping along the the grapple. Got near the end before the floor even loaded and fell right into the aquarium.
