I'm talking about 2 weeks after the second shot (or the first shot for J&J) once you are fully protected.

I know it's only a 95% effectiveness or so, but there should be some point where a mask is just not needed and instead you can wear a vacination card (with your face/picture on it etc) showing you were vacinated fully on such and such a date......instead of a mask.

From what I have read they are waiting till the numbers get under 10k a day in the US to relax the restrictions, but that could be a long time as many are resisting getting vacinated even though they can at this point (I know quite a few who are not).

Should we all have to keep wearing masks because tons of people refuse to get vacinated and are still getting sick?

I say you should be able to wear a badge/sticker etc that shows you were vacinated, and that people should be able to purchase them once they have a final vacination date (probably get em shipped etc in a day or two).

This should work for planes etc as well, since a big reason I don't want to go on a trip cross country etc, is because I'd have to wear a mask the whole day.

Hopefully we'll get down to under 10k cases a day pretty fast, but it's looking doubtful as even in places where everyone can get the shot now (where I live is a good example) many are still not getting it.

If only 60% of people are willing to get the shot, and more contagious varients are out there now, we may not see the numbers drop under 10k for a long time (if ever since you can re-get the virus it seems after enough time).

10k is a very small % of our population (.003% I think?) which means if only 30% of the country refuses the shot, we might never actually get down to that low a number.

Wish they would have made stimulus checks dependant on getting the freaking vacine.

Yes, it's safer and avoids the huge hassle of trying to verify who has been vaccinated. Any badge or card like you're suggesting would be easily faked and difficult to check closely without causing a confrontation. Also, the last thing we want is for everyone to start mingling without masks while there's still a high chance of a new strain developing that current vaccines aren't effective against.

Does the vaccine prevent you from catching the virus? Because if you can still catch it, it means you can still spread it. And if you don't have any symptoms, you could be spreading it without realising it. So maybe wearing a mask is for the benefit of other people as well as your own.

I havent had a cold for over a year. People can stop wearing them if they want, but Im going to keep wearing one.

This comparison is stupid. There are plenty of situations within society where you need to show proof of something, EVEN vaccination. Try to get a medical degree without being vaccinated. Good luck. Could I see your papers? I had to get a TB skin test and prove it when I went to school to be a phlebotomist (dropped out).

Yep. Sticker/badge sounds like a hassle and potentially too disposable. Card is too much for just going to the grocery or something when it would be easier just to have the simple visual identification of a mask. I think it's just a combination of extra caution + you can't tell if unmasked people are vaccinated or not. I think the type of person who is willing to get a vaccine would generally not have an issue with masking up either.

It's selfish not to wear a mask. So many idiots get the vaccine and think they can just drop the mask while they go and spread the virus to others whom have yet to get a vaccine. Our state only has 40% semi/fully vaccinated.

Even if you have the vaccine you're still not fully immune to the virus. People have died despite being vaccinated.

Umm... I realize youve been heavily manipulated by the media pushing a very specific agenda, but in no way do you need to get vaccinated to get a medical degree. Vaccination isnt a requirement to become a medical doctor and its rather asinine to assume that it would be.

I can tell that you are very narrow minded and a little shook up because Im disrupting your false view of reality, but it is not an absolute requirement. In any of those countries. You can get a waver due to religious beliefs, medical issues (believe it or not there are some people who cant get vaccines due to health issues. Shocking to you I know), and various other reasons. Forcing someone to get vaccinated just so they can get an education when it goes against their religious beliefs or could potentially do great harm to them is ridiculous and not based in reality.

There are people who attend theses schools and get their degree without meeting those vaccine requirements due to exemptions. My mother is immunocompromised from a rare form of breast cancer/her treatment. Just so you don't think I'm acting out of line on this topic. Not that I think you should be uncomfortable discussing any of this, as I am not.

Yes, you are correct, immunocompromised people cannot get certain types of vaccines.
So it would be best for you to get the vaccine, so you're less likely to give it to her. You can help keep her safe by doing it.

I'm going to continue wearing a mask in public until all three of the following conditions are met:

1. I'm fully vaccinated.
2. The entire population has had ample time to be fully vaccinated, and not receiving a vaccine by this point means either ignorance of medical advice or sheer laziness.
3. Mask mandates have been lifted.

The people that whine about wearing a mask, social distancing, and hand washing are the biggest pussies in society. We have the easiest generational global crisis to contend with in history, and some people still can't manage to provide the smallest sacrifice.
