Today, with the day almost over = less than 9000 responses

I knew this site's use has gone way down, but not even 1/10th of what it was in 2008? Wow.

(I know the poll isn't indicative of actual site usage, but its a decent approximation)

Most people would rather post their braindead ramblings on social media. Most people also prefer to see video of game related stuff rather than trying to parse text. I just realized that it's kind of insane that GFAQs never made a move to video.

Not really, considering how many people link directly to the boards now. I haven't seen the front page of the site in about 4 or 5 years. I'm sure the userbase has decreased, but the site's usage has also changed.

Yea, I somewhat partially take it back....even though the moderation's gotten more and more heavy-handed over the years, I still prefer it here to like Twitter and Tik Tok, where they limit you to 120 characters and 30 second videos...

And Facebook used to be great 2007-2015ish, but just got worse and worse with "feature creep" and removing group pages and making Messenger a separate application and spammy ads everywhere.

Edit: Oh and the 2016 Fake News fiasco and massive private data leaks and bots (Yahoo! comments used to be good (albeit wild) until they shut it mostly down last year mostly b/c of the bots)

You only have your opinion terminated on a website so many times before you stop posting it there. I feel like the turnout of the polls is in part due to how many users are treated here.

Video walkthroughs dont cover everything all the time because the producers of them have to race each other to get the info out. I was really surprised to find info on the newest Valhalla update the same day it released. Were still trying to figure out how to get one small chest in one of the forts.

Yeah, Facebook is pretty awful now. I refuse to upload any new pics of myself or my family there. I dont post personal info, work, relationships etc, so even to my friends, my page looks like what some would say is a bot account.

Idk. On Kelps board, you can see quite a number of older accounts that voted. Obviously, its not everybody. But Id say that its possible quite a good amount of older accounts still vote...

As soon they separated Messenger from FB, I pretty much stopped using FB altogether since I was sick of seeing friends' and relatives' shitty socio-political memes and I didn't want to block them.

Yeah, the fact that the mods kept banning people probably drove some people off, as did the fact that the mods give cart blanche to other people.

I almost always prefer text walkthroughs but I'm a fussy old man. I'm just surprised that GameFAQs made 0 push at all toward integrating video stuff. The basic design and purpose of this site has been the exact same for nearly 20 years.

I almost never vote in the poll tbf. I think long time users just bookmark directly to whatever boards or other places they like to visit. And it's a lot easier now to just google guides, even if they are from gamefaqs, than to go on the main page, find the game and navigate to the list of guides. But it also is definitely declining in users

It could just be the games that you want the most isnt on the list. It was like that for me for May. The game I was most looking forward to was Worlds End Club. But it wasnt one of the choices...
