Steve always asks what they do, and they're always some manager or IT professional or something.

You never hear people say, "I stock shelves at Walmart" or "I'm a cashier at Exxon".

Is the criteria to get on Family Feud to have a good job? Is that what American families are about?

Regular people jobs work paycheck to paycheck. Can't just afford to take weeks off for a game show.

Edit: Trent beat me to it, word for word.
I'm not buying that at all. I think they're very selective in the families they choose, and it's always upper middle class. Especially when it comes to representing black people.

They're always some type of executive or something. No one with normal jobs gets on that show.

I'm just seeing if anyone's ever considered the fakeness of it. And how it doesn't represent the average family at all.

Well I know on price is right you have to be rich enough to be able to immediately (afaik) deal with the taxes if you win a bunch of shit like say 2-3 cars or something. So they do have eligibility requirements for which income is one of them. (No idea on the numbers needed, though)

FF is purely cash winnings so it shouldn't matter....who knows. You're probably right that they just give poor people the middle finger though.

I can't find anything confirming it, but my understanding is that they don't even pay travel expenses for contestants. So, travel and hotel expenses for 5 people...for a chance to potentially win $4000 each if you win the big prize, but a more likely chance of winning nothing or a few hundred dollars each.

Do you think wage slaves have time to apply for Family Feud, let alone can afford to take a day off to be on it?

I'd bet money that the show compensates them in some way whether they win or not. How else would they get entire families to be there?

I'd just like to hear once, "Yeah Steve, I work the night shift at Denny's".

Could it be the family believes the cousin that works in IT would get more correct answers than the brother that works at Walmart?

Er wait isn't it like jury duty, they're compensated for their time while filming the tv game show? That's not what Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and Price is Right are like is it?
