Shadows of the Damned made me laugh quite a bit. Resident Evil Survivor is hilarious too.

What's amazing is that they are not even considered "humor games" but they are because they don't take themselves seriously at all but they are not over the top like Saints Row for example

A really good question. Could even be something like The Sims because I had so much fun with it for a few months there when I was a kid

Mass Effect is a good call; I played dedicated paragon the first time through, and was in stitches at the "Steward is such a jerk" video. Portal 2 also a good one.

I can't remember the last time I played a game and it got me with like...explosive humour and had me really laughing hard. Most of the time it's just a hard exhale through the nose kind of "laugh"

Saints Row 2 (3 and 4 were both "funnier", but also not rooted in "reality" which kinda held the comedy back imo)

I'm going through Disco Elysium right now and maybe it's because I expected something more serious but the game is a laugh riot. Definitely a contender.

That's tough. First thing that came to mind was Team Fortress 2, but a lot of that would be player interaction, the trailer videos, and the out-of-game lore.

Definitely a multi-player game, but in terms of writing that I'm not sure. Ace Attorney is up there. Tales of Vesperia is solid with a lot of its skits.
