Chipotle also raised prices without raising wages in the past. Prices have been going up with wages staying the same for decades. Dont blame this on the wage increase. They dont NEED to do this. They WANT to do this. Its that simple.

I remember when papa johns said if they gave health insurance to employees, it would raise the price of a pizza 25 cents. General concensus was people were fine with this idea. So the company showed their true colors by saying fuck you anyway and not helping out their employees.

Papa John's ended up doing something ridiculous like a $2 increase, blamed it on Obamacare, and then it was brought to light that the necessary increase would have only been about 25 cents.

Started boycotting them once that was revealed

I'm sure employees will be really torn up that they're getting $3-6 per hour hour raises at the cost of everyone having to pay 40 cents more per burrito run.

Not like anyone who eats at Chipotle gets paid hourly wages and would also want more pay to afford said things.

Unless they were making at least 14.42/h before, the price increase is less than the wage increase.

So googling what they get paid now I see between high 8 to low 10 an hour. This is a nice increase.

If anyone suggested there would be NO increase, they are dumb. But I didn't see people saying that. What I saw were people sharing the fuck out of this meme and thinking "well this is obviously how it works" not realizing it's Republican fear mongering and there's all sorts of problems with it.

That's about 50 cents. If you're struggling that much, you shouldn't be eating Chipotle. Please express how a 50 cent price increase is a net negative compared to people earning a living wage.

Yeah, thats pretty big. At 10, it is a 50% raise. At 10.25 it is a bit over a 46% raise.

Okay, so lets say you are making 100/time unit and spend 100/time unit. You get a 40% raise and prices go up 4%. You are now making 140/time and spending 104/time. So you go from spending 100% of your income to spending about 74.3%.

I get what you're saying. Did the CEO need an extra huge bonus when a lot of that bonus could have been used to pay the salary raises.
