"Think about how price raises hurt consumers" assumes that no one that works and gets a raise is a consumer. Should no one get paid more because prices will increase if they do? Ignoring that prices go up all the time anyway?

If you don't have two pennies to rub together, you probably aren't going to be paying for Chipotle either, so you wouldn't have to worry about how much Chipotle costs.

Anyone remember the 6 Dollar Burger from Carl's Jr/Hardee's?

When it debuted it was sold as "a 6 dollar restaurant burger for like 3.98".

And then just a short time ago they had to rebrand it, because the "6 Dollar Burger" now just cost 6 dollars. And that restaurant burger that was 6? Good luck getting it for under 10 now.

Prices go up regardless of pay hikes. They've increased steadily over the years while the federal minimum wage has stayed exactly the same.

Well thats just crazy, all the financial experts here in CE said that would never happen! Even though it's happened literally every single time lmao

Nobody said anything like this. Maybe if you argued in good faith youd actual pay attention to what the other side has to say instead of using straw man mechanisms. Product and food prices have continued rising over the last 12 years while minimum wage has stagnated over this same period of time. This should be an indicator that inflation isnt directly linked to wage increases. They were going to occur anyway.

This is simply a mega billion dollar corporation putting their spin on their recent price hikes by blaming minimum wage workers instead of corporate leaders, and you fell for it hook, line and sinker.

Those services basically dont exist in my town anymore. They refused to pay the drivers so everyone quit *shrug*

Pay bottom dollar, charge top price, and keep all profits at the top, seems to be the theme of the workforce.

$15/hr is still half of what minimum wage needs to be to take care of people.

Double sad when people like Bleuets are talking about not eating at chipotle because of the price increase, but were talking about eating more overpriced food from Chick Fil A because they give money to anti LGBT causes

It's pathetic if it's trolling, but more so if these people are serious

Ding ding ding. The CEO knows they can cover it easily. But he saw his million dollar bank account get SLIGHTLY smaller and couldnt stand for it. Instead he made us make up the difference. And people shill for these corporations while attacking the working class who need that money the most. Its incredible.

That's fine.

Like, if the only way we can have such cheap prices is by underpaying* workers, maybe those services shouldn't be so cheap.

This is assuming I actually believe they have to increase prices for this

*Obviously some disagree on what underpaying means

I mean it took a non-coordinated strike and a pandemic to get them to change their practices, and these are still a minority of stores. Most McD's are franchised, they don't change. You're talking about two chains and the third chain doesn't include most of its stores. What is wrong with yall that you want everyone to be poor lol? If minimum wage matched inflation we'd be making over 30$ an hour now at minimum.

Yall don't make sense anymore

They ALL hike that shit up. Just get a water cup. Water is free and better for you anyway. Soda is literally the most unhealthy thing you can possibly out in your body (also you can sneak a bit in a water cup lol).

Chipotle is relatively cheap. You can get a meal for sub $10. Doesn't get much better than that unless you're eating cardboard
