Kinda feels like they missed the boat by like 15 years with this crossover.
In some ways, the crossover makes a lot of sense -- they're both cartoon dogs involved with creepy shit. However, there's a core thematic issue because Courage's paranormal shit happens (for the most part) whereas modern Scooby even retconned Zombie Island to be a hoax and Thirteen Ghosts was apparently also "explained". That difference in tone is hard to work with. Granted, crossovers can vary depending on which side is getting the crossover. If this was a Courage story set in the Scoobyverse, it would probably be pretty fucking awesome. However, this his a Scooby story set in the Courageverse, and it's likely to be tepid garbage like most of the other Scooby crossovers in recent years. I just don't get why they're going it *now*. Is a Courage reboot on the way? ^Right. I'd forgotten to mention the differences in theme or tone - Courage's universe has more of a trippy "this is completely weird" type of thing going on where Scooby has more of a realistic setting where they eventually figure it out
But it could work I even seem to remember such a crossover, unless it was some fan-made teaser content, but I feel like this is familiar for some reason. Not for the fact that I actually liked Courage for what it was when I watched it, it just seems like it actually already happened before. --- For more information, please press 1.
