That IS how it works sometimes, its not an exclusive thing which is the problem with the topic and the other weirdos who get upset people call out shitty service

You can have a shitty customer or a shitty employee, it doesnt matter what it really is - something will happen from the altercation but I tend to sympathize more with the customer than the employee since its a GIVEN that more and more employees are trying to cop out of basic people skills

well thats imo anyways, then a hypothetical scenario was proposed where my solution was to simply spill the cup of coffee on the floor cause its like, who cares anyways?

Im sure the employee doesnt mind considering they knew someone was bound to escalate the situation considering the things theyve seen and went ahead and gave an attitude in an attempt to lag out and nobody else really cares since its perceived as an accident anyways

Customers' definition of "being a dick" tends to vary. I find the usual is, "You did not grovel at my feet in quite the manner I prefer and now I'm mad."

You havent truly experienced customer service until someone threatens to assault you right before calling the cops on you to claim you assaulted THEM (and zero contact was made).

They say the customer is always right but really it's the employee that's always right from my experience. No one in customer service(or at least 95%) wants to make someone's life hard for no reason, that just makes the job harder, they want the exact opposite: to satisfy the customer as fast as possible. The employee is stuck with the fact that they HAVE to obey rules and put on a certain fake persona. Customers can say whatever the fuck they want. 95% of employees are not gonna wanna sit in a bad confrontation with a customer during and 8 or more hour shift. The customer isn't on that kind of time and isn't thinking look term. They'll just be a dick for a few minutes and think they were the only asshole of the day.

*customer complains about poor internet* - Ill set their speed from 100MB to 10KB because they complained. Fuck them and Im so funny, that'll teach them

*customer complains about a full bus* - Driver kicks out the customer on the middle of no where from the bus because they were rude.

*customer complains about surgery prices* - Surgeon decides to fuck up your arm because that'll teach you not to complain.

If anyones says this is exaggerating, CE would say: "If you dont understand you havent obviously worked these jobs*

Big difference between complaints and rudeness.
You can complain while being polite or while being rude. One respects that they are a person, the other does not. If you treat retail and foodservice workers like they aren't people, you deserve to get thrown out.

Well that's not entirely accurate either. It's more like your expectations were deliberately undermined.

You ordered a coffee but got a decaf coffee. Most people wouldn't think to say "I want a regular coffee," because it's just implied by not saying "decaf".

For me it definitely is. I think it has to do with my brain (being ADD-diagnosed).

I could down a glass of Mountain Dew before bed then fall asleep 10 minutes later. I only drink coffee in the morning because "that's what people do in the morning", it does very little to get my energy levels up.

Lol such sad puffing up. The fact that you think problem customers are only an issue for low-paid employees hints at you never having a higher-paying job or not working at all, not to mention the unnecessary bragging.

Problem customers have always been the exception and never the rule, unless you are the sort of abrasive employee who creates their own problems. I have never had any job where rude customers were the expected norm, but I also treat them with politeness so . . .
