My driveway is awkward to get into/out of, and it gets messy when it rains. So lately I've just been parking next to the road outside the driveway. There's plenty enough room to park and still be way out of the way from the road.

Today as I was putting my stuff in the car to go to work, I hear a truck whooshing up behind me. I take a look and its going way over the speed limit and the road curves at my driveway(part of why it's awkward to use). So, as the road starts curving, the truck gets further on the side. When it passed by me it was off the side of the road quite a bit and came probably within 2 feet of hitting me before it whipped back onto the road and kept going.

I didn't really have time to react, and I was fine. So I got in the car and asked my cousin if he saw that. "You almost getting hit by that truck? I saw it."

I always check for traffic first, because even though there's plenty of room, it is an easy spot to end up partway off the road. So I make sure nothing is coming while I have my door open, but he was going so fast that I didn't even see him until he was right on top of me. Took me maybe like 10 seconds to put my stuff in the car and he almost got me. >_>
